Today Meridian Airlines President, Thomas Mathieu announced the acquisition of a small regional carrier based in Anchorage Alaska. Meridian has launched the new division called Alaskan Express. Flight operations will be based in Anchorage with schedules serving much of Alaska. Direct non-stop flights to Denver and San Francisco from Anchorage will continue.
“Meridian celebrates its 12th year of operations with our expansion into Alaska” Mr. Mathieu boasted in a conference call today. “Meridian continues to expand globally and remains financially strong”. He added “Our commitment to passenger safety, high standards and unparalleled passenger amenities contribute to our continued growth”.
Alaskan Express will service at least 12 destinations within Alaska with 3 EMB 120’s and 2 Dash 6 aircraft pictured below. The aircraft acquired have been completely refurbished inside and out to meet Meridian’s high standard of passenger comfort and amenities.
