HI there

I have FSINN for FSX SP1, I was trying to do my first flight but the ATC in denver was telling that I was shown as a controller. What went wrong?

Thanks in advance

Roberto

For the record, I was the Denver controller when this happened. I don't use FSINN, and I have no idea how this happened, but he showed up on my Controller list as on observer broadcasting on my DEN_CTR frequency. His plane (which he claimed was on the ground in denver) was never visible, as he was not a plane - he was an observing controller. He said he was not using any radar client software, and was not using a multiplayer session, so I had no idea how to help. Anyone have any ideas?

For some reason you've set the log on to show you as an observer, which is a facility in FSInn that's not found in Squawkbox. As I don't use FSInn I can't tell you how to change it, but I'm sure some advice will be along in a moment.

... and over the hill comes the Cavalry (not that I'm over the hill quite yet)...

Control Panel, Settings, General, Basic tab

Next to the callsign box is a tiny check-box labelled "Observer". Uncheck this box and that will fix it for you. I'm not sure why people ever check this box, I guess it suggests that they're just going to observe but it's so easy to forget (or not even know about) unchecking it. It's not FSInn's best feature by a very long way! It's unchecked by default incidentally.

Hi, Robert. I'm sure you have it fugured out by now. It's one of FSInn's excellent features to allow two users to be in the same Plane (FSX's Shared Cockpit).

I'm glad to see that many people have gotten used to how changing some of the many options behaves so that when someone experiments, we can easily get them back on track.

Don't hesitate to ask if you have another question or problem.

In the meantime, I'm going to work on a module to reset the defaults. As you can see from the new announcement. Except for router or Firewall problemes, it'll work perfect and with ease from the default installation.
