I, as a ground controller like to appeal to all pilot local or international, that if they carry "cargo" to reflect this on their FLIGHTPLAN.
The reason for this... I don't have to ask... pax or cargo? (which saves time). And can send you directly to the appropiate terminal.

Which make virtual more "as real as it gets", don't you think?

Thank you for your co-operation, most appriciated.

Happy flying and safe landings.

Ben

not really, doesnt happen in the real world (that i know of)

what you can do is look up the carrier ahead of time and find out if its a passenger carrier or cargo carrier. if its a real world based one, go to the airlines site, if its a virtual one, search the VA list

youll get to know them eventually

pilots should also be letting you know that anyway ahead of time "ABC Ground, N12345 clear of 11 for cargo"

Come to think of it. On the FSinn flightplan one has to fill in: how many passengers. No where is that reflected on the vatsim flightplan either I see that as a shortcoming! I am sure in the realworld this infomation is reflected on the flightplan in case of a disaster for obvious reasons.

Therefore in my opinion (I say again in my opinion because I am not sure) will the type of load be reflected on the flightplan just because of forementioned reason i.e in case of cargo. Hazardous material, nucluar, animals, to name a few.

in the real world theres much much more that goes in your flightplan. the pax feature in the FSINN flight planner isnt used on vatsim.

in the real world you have a flightplan, then the info you put there is parsed into the flight strips which ATC uses, not all the info in your flightplan goes into the flight strip. the rest is kept in the system for other uses (in case they need to go looking for you, etc..)

what the pilots create, whenever they fill in the online prefile form on the vatsim website, or on the clients is actually a flight strip. not an actual flightplan in the way they would in the real world.

it would be nice if they were seperate cause i can personally see some good use from the extra info one could look up on the website, but at the moment, all it does is create a strip
