Pilot Discussion With a Global Perspective
By Rusty Hawkins 989532
#111905 Hello, Very new to FSX and flight sims, I need a little help though. My airplane is very sensitive in the vertical movements, just BARELY touch the joystick and its is at up or down 1000 ft/ min or greater, the plane is very hard to stabilize for level flight. Is this normal? The cessna was not bad but the twins and the jets are very hard to fly! Is this characteristic, I have adjusted the sensitivity all the way to zero and it helped very little. I have read that pilots are expected to maintain +/- 100 ft, this is impossible with the plane moving radically for several minutes when leveling off or trying to start/ maintain descents. I am using a Saitek Aviator joystick on a 3 gig XP machine, 2 monitors, plenty of memory. Any suggestions would be appreciated, if I just need more practice please tell me, no hard feelings here, as I am new to sim flight. Thanks RustyH.

#111941 Do you have the software installed that goes with it? You should be able to adjust the sensitivity of the stick in the Saitek software.

#112082 to be honest I have the same problem with my saitek, i have tried to adjust the sensitivity but to no avail, it is strange as soon as you touch it, the aircraft will either bank alot or dive or climb excessively, i thought it may have something to do with the flight dynamics, but havnt installed any addon aircraft to try it out with them yet.

#112248 There was another post like this on another forum. It appeared they didn't have the Stick's drivers installed. After they installed them, it worked fine.

Oh and drop the hostility

#112564 Jason, no hostility here, it was a simple direct question, you posted under a specific topic and did not reference what you were actually saying, I clearly said that I was a newbie and was asking for some help, I was totally confused by your post and I simply asked what it has to do with joystick sensitivity.

#113539 Deleted - There you go, one of your problems is now solved, (you obviously didnt read my reply)

It did have something to do with your post, i was refering to the post Travis made and Travis was refering to the post you made,
(can you see the link now ? probably not)
