Hello all,

I recently reformatted my computer and went to install Flight Sim 2004 but I remembered I lost my FS9 #4 CD. I have all the other 3, but how can I get to install FS now? Anyone? I'd really appreciate any feedback from anyone willing to help. Thanks! :)

I would recommend buying a second hand one from Ebay.

Upgrade to FSX?

Borrow CD #4 off a friend you know?

Buy a new copy?

Unless you have a backed up version on something like an external hard drive already, that's about the only options I can think of.

If you're desperate, there are nefarious methods that would provide you with one, but I don't think either VATSIM or its community would look to kindly on any discussion of that.

The best thing to do is to either find a friend with them (thats what I did) or go to Wal-Mart and pick up a copy. I think Wally World has FS9 for 20 bucks, and if your local EB still has used computer games (which I doubt, they're discontinuing that), then they should have one even cheaper.

In my eyes, as long as you OWN the software you should be able to download it online. You had purchased the software at full retail, therefore you should be able to download it from another party.

I won't get into the legalities, suffice to say that VATSIM doesn't condone piracy.

In regards to the issue at hand, I know of a number of similar instances. Simply contact Microsoft Product Support and for a nominal fee (its postage plus a little bit) they will post you out a replacement.

walmart sells a whole new fs9 for 19.99. might be cheaper than ebay considering how much many of the vendors are charging for shipping now (5.99 for a .99 or 4.99 dvd?)
