  3. Aidan Stevens, Vice President - Technical Development and Zach Biesse-Fitton, Vice President - Web Services have announced their intentions to retire from VATSIM’s Board of Governors. While we are sad to see them leave the Board of Governors, we are excited that both intend to pursue other roles within VATSIM and deliver the changes we have been working so hard to bring to production. Zach’s retirement from the Board of Governors corresponds to his desire to return to his home division in a senior leadership role as interim division director for VATPAC. Zach also wishes to allow a ne

  4. Awesome info. Had a great time on today. Jacksonville CTR went off line when I was getting ready to go, so head a venue change to Farmingdale in NY. Sat in GA parking for a bit listening to the NY airspace madness and then as I was going to give it a go NY Center went off for a bit lol. No worries, worked on Unicom, and then spoke with Islip Approach for the class C transition eastbound towards East Hampton. Then back on unicom for landing at HTO. Was good fun and practice. Thank you to all the controllers for your service!

  6. Hey Corey, Up until yesterday, there was really only speculation about VATSIM's compatibility for Microsoft's new Flight Simulator. As we get closer to the release date, we'll have more information about how to use VATSIM with the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. Keep an eye on our Twitter and/or Facebook Page as well as here on our Community Forums for news and announcements related to MSFS. Outside of that, welcome to VATSIM! I've been flying for a few years now and I still love going up in a smaller GA plane, touring around different states and countries which is definitely something

  7. Whatever it will be, go for a USB-headset so you can define and use it as a separate device - will make it easier to separate voice from all other SIM-sounds. I am using a Plantronic headset for about 60 USD.

  8. I dropped about $120 on a Logitech Pro X headset, sound quality is great and the microphone has blue technology built in, so it's pretty good quality.

  9. I have been VERY pleased with my Sennheiser Game ONEs. ~$170 I found that most headsets were too hot and clamp down too much, but these are neither. I love them. EPOS I Sennheiser GAME ONE Gaming Headset, Open Acoustic, Noise-canceling mic, Flip-To-Mute, XXL plush velvet ear pads, compatible with PC, Mac, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Smartphone - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KK8ZLEC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_D11gFbJA6J7BZ

  11. Don't forget the upcoming changes to the P ratings and in particular, the P0 rating which will be required if a member wants to fly on the network. So in future, new pilots should demonstrate some basic knowledge before being allowed on the network. Furthermore, supervisors are not there to be the bad cops and kick people. Most of all, we are online to help. If a member needs support while connected to the network, they can call for a supervisor to help them. For example, yesterday, I had a lovely educational chat with a new member about flight planning. "Aviate Educate Communicate" 😁
