  1. VATSIM Stats website is now live ( www.vatsimstats.net ) . After many months of late nights and a lot of head scratching my website is finally finished. I had always wanted to see a website that shows the top airport, airlines and aircraft types used on VATSIM. The Germany VATSIM website used to have a very basic updated weekly table of top airports but this unfortunately disappeared a couple of years ago. I decided last year that I want to create something similar but a lot better, not only having airport, but also airlines and aircraft types, with a searchable function. I had no pr

  2. I'm pleased to announce a long-term project that has been in discussion within the last few months between the divisional staff as well as the Kuwait vACC staff. Since it's establishment Kuwait vACC has been thriving to bring it's little airspace active on the map and make it one of the active vACCs of the Middle East & North Africa Division. The vACC has went from virtually no activity to 18 active members with 13 rating upgrades since its establishment. The vACC ranks second in terms of ATC hours with 1532 hours in the last 5-6 months behind the U.A.E vACC. Without further-ado I'm h

  3. Hello all, I'm posting to let everyone know with as much advanced notice as possible, that I have begun planning for the eventual retirement of VRC. I have not done any new feature development for VRC in many years, mainly because VRC was written in a programming language that I haven't used since 2004, and I simply don't consider myself fluent in that language. (I really never did ... VRC is the only application I ever wrote in C++.) As such, I have no desire nor motivation to work on it, and any development time that I have available gets put into vPilot, vERAM, and vSTARS. So, as

  4. Was crossing a busy Gatwick zone VFR the other night just after sunset. Most aircraft around had lights, but as I was cleared across the one I was supposed to cross behind had nothing and so I didn't see him. Cancelled the crossing to be safe, waited for the next guy. Didn't see him either and thought I at least was experiencing the known bug. There was a guy at the holdpoint cleared to line up behind however, so I figured I'd just look at him as an indicator on when to start moving across, but as I did I saw a completely dark A320 pass across his nose on the runway, the guy I was looking for.

  5. Don’t overthink it. You don’t need to be wait for ages to be “perfectly” on the localiser. Once you have have made the turn on to the localiser (ie you are no longer on the intercept heading) and a convenient gap on the frequency arises, it’s fine, even if you’re half a dot off. In a radar environment it’s pretty redundant since the controller can see whether you have established anyway — controllers working large top down positions on VATSIM where they may not be able to devote full attention to you may use it as a prompt basically to remind them to give you a landing clearance. 7. Well after sorely missing the German Vatsim website airports stats page that was removed a couple years ago, I decide to create my own Vatsim stat website, which not only shows airports, but also airlines and aircraft types used on Vatsim. In a nutshell the website shows the top 100 most popular airports, top 75 most popular airlines and top 25 aircraft types used on VATSIM, the data was first gathered at the start of the year – 3rd Jan 2021, and the site updates every 24hrs. There is also a search function on the website, so if you do not see your favourite airport or airline on the webs

  8. Hello Zakaria! Thanks for your feedback, Ali B. was on DTTC during this time. We have recently been updating our sectorfiles for the North Africa area and are slowly testing them out on the network. I do apologise if he had to disconnect before you could make a flight as we had to do some additional testing. We have events planned in the near future for the North African area so stay tuned!

  9. I need the full log file as well as the dmp and/or rpt file from the crash (these can be found in the Output/crash_reports folder where X-Plane is installed). You’ll need to upload them to a file sharing website like Google Drive (just make sure to make the link public). Alternatively, you can join the xPilot Discord and get help there. https://vats.im/xpilot-discord

  10. I noticed this fairly recently as well in MSFS. It seems that if lights are on for someone else prior to you connecting, the light conditions don't sync. The other pilot needs to cycle lights. It seems the light status is only sent on change from a client, and you don't get current states when connecting.
