  1. I used an old freeware scenery for FS9, so it probably wouldn't work for FSX. With that said, the FS9 scenery is quite good for being freeware. JM
  2. Thanks, Ross... I'll keep looking into the graphics card to try and pinpoint the issue. I'll post if I come across a solution. JM
  3. I was having another issue with VRC, VAT-Spy, and vSTARS where random lines were appearing and jumping around. I updated my video card drivers because of that, and it fixed the issue; however, this map issue still exists. Any other thoughts, or would you say it's definitely a graphic card issue? JM
  4. Hey guys, So I've been having a problem with being unable to load certain maps in vSTARS unless other unrelated maps are selected. At other times, one map being open will show what it's supposed to, but when I open a totally unrelated map items from the first map disappear. Any thoughts? JM
  5. I think we should try to keep this post on topic and avoid correcting controllers & pilots alike... instead just enjoy the funny situations that are posted. Shouldn't be too hard... JM
  6. There have definitely been some funny things over the years... This first one was not me, but one of my fellow controllers when I first started at ZDC: The rest are me: After a pilot landed long on runway 33L at BWI... JM

  8. And it begins... Congratulations, Andrew! Not a better man for the job! JM
  9. I got your first e-mail but haven't heard back since. I guess it wasn't that important? JM
  10. For the record, I'm not on the BoG. I have no official capacity in VATSIM management whatsoever. Also, I was careful not to say anything in my comment that would indicate agreement or disagreement with your comments. All I said is "where do you find the time?" The only conclusion you could accurately jump to from that is that I am surprised at how much time and effort you are giving to something like this. The content, phrasing, and tone of your posts makes it sound like you are commenting on political corruption in a national government system, not the management of a flight sim hobbyist
  11. Bo, While I see your point, and I understand it can be frustrating to all the members who are currently without an ATM at ZAU, what you need to understand is, in order for the right decision to be made, the BoG may need time to review. Don't get me wrong... I know you all are anxious and excited to find out who the new ATM is, but you have a DATM and VATUSA8 who are working together as ATM right now. Those capable individuals should be working well together to help ZAU continue on. What's frustrating is, no matter what, the BoG and VATUSA staff members are just going to look like a bunch o
  12. If you don't have the patience to wait for the right decision, what's the point of even applying? I want to know why it is so important to you that a fast decision is made, when VATUSA and the BoG are clearly trying to do all in their mind to make the best decision for the state of the ARTCC. There are details that you and me don't know, and it's not our place to. Why try and rush the people with the already difficult jobs in making their decision? If you're that impatient, I recommend e-mailing VATUSA1 directly rather than creating a forum post if you're that concerned about it. And do yo
  13. I agree, but I can also see the reason why you'd want to go for the afternoon event. A lot of times Saturday evenings are family nights. I personally end up taking my parents or grandmother out to dinner on Saturday evenings, so it's a nice change to have something in the afternoon. While I personally prefer early evening events, I'm not going to complain about a mix up in times a bit. Also, according to my records the ZHU event is occurring in the evening (early evening, but still evening). I guess I see your point, but to a certain degree... JM
