  1. Just wanted to give a shout out to ZMA over the last few days for the amount of hours they are putting on in support of the high density of operations going on in and around Haiti. Robbie and crew have done a great job and deserve some props for their commitment! Way to Go!

  3. Romano, Please post your responses into the ticket system. The information being provided in this forum thread has not made it into your support ticket so we have no way of knowing that the suggested solution from Dec 10th did not work, as there was no reply. Also please stay with a single ticket instead of opening more tickets as the same person may not get each one and it is difficult for us to keep up with what is going on with your situation. You will find another reply to your ticket in your inbox shortly. AP

  5. Anyone who has controlled ZAK_FSS in the last year (10/22/08 to 10/21/2009) will be able to return to ZAK with their privileges restored. Those who have not controlled in that time will need to go through a check out procedure to have their controlling privileges restored. We have a list of those folks and when the airspace is reopened, we will deal with it as those persons reapply.
  6. To all: Oakland Oceanic is back online and ready to accept controllers onto the roster. As a reminder, there are no home controllers in ZAK, everyone is considered a visiting controller. Special thanks to all those who helped put things back together including but not limited to: Alex Bailey Abel Tuinei Tom Seeley Michael Hodge Paul Biderman Ian Elchitz Curley Bryant If I forgot to mention someone, sorry about that. Thanks again and we are all looking forward to seeing the skies over the Pacific staffed. Great job everyone! http://zak.vatusa.net is the w
  7. To sort of echo Bryan's comments I think it is situation dependent. For example: VATUSA1, 7, 8, and 10 should not be ATMs or DATMs VATUSA3 should not be a TA VATUSA4 should be completely neutral and hold no other positions VATUSA9's position is not related to ARTCC operations at all. VATUSA 5, 6, 11 are not directly involved in ARTCC issues most of the time, and if they felt they they had the time, I wouldn't see a problem with that. One complaint that circulates amongst the network frequently is that staff members tend to be aloof and unplugged from what is going on 'in the tre

  10. I am going to forgo the long email/speech that is customary for new Directors. Instead I want to simply layout the ideas that will drive the decision making process going forward: *Promote fair and equitable treatment of all members under the CoC and CoR. *Maximize staffing of airspace by qualified air traffic controllers. *Increase air traffic levels within the division. *Smoothly implement the policy directives of the VATSIM Executive Committee & Board of Governors. There's not much more to it than that. I will spend the foreseeable future visitng individually with ARTCCs, VAs
