  1. I was with SVA about two years ago but had to leave the hobby for a short time due to family and work conflicts. I followed all directions on SVA's site to contact their HR department about re-activation of my pilot status but after two series of emails to SVA I have had no contact. I have given them a good email address (same as the one I signed up with) and explained the situation. When posting an email to HR it says that you WILL recieve notification/communication WITHIN 48 hours. I submitted the first email Saturday May 3rd, 2014. I did not recieve any return corrispondence and sent off th
  2. Dang it, I'm such a boob sometimes... I updated my AMD Catalyst driver and the problem went away. Sorry for the trouble.

I can post a picture if you need but I'm trying to understand what causes it. I am running a Radeon Sapphire R9 270x Toxic and XPX in 64 bit with 16gb ram using AMD Zambezi 8 core. HELP!!" PROBLEM SOLVED: UPDATE YOUR DRIVERS....
  5. I know its been mentioned several times already but I have really enjoyed the lessons from ZLA's Pilot Certification Program. However there are some things you can not avoid learning the hard way by reading through the PRC. Take your time learning from the PRC and practice all flights offline several times before connecting up with VATSIM so you can focus on the ATC portion of the community.
  6. Let me know. I have the wife believing I have this one to run FS9 only. I told her over the next year I'll be building a FSX rig.
  7. I want to get an idea of what people are running with the latest and greatest in GPUs. I think this will be benificial to everyone who is looking or is new to the FS World. I'm debating between a GeForce GT 9600 512 mb, and a GeForce GTX 9800 512/1024 mb. The 9600 is running about $50.00 cheaper and I've already read one report of FS9 running over 60 fps consistently. Thanks for stopping by and drop your stats on the way out!
  8. Thanks for the replies everyone. I have recieved the computer in the mail, and I am quite satisfied. It loads XP SP2 Home Edition in under 30 seconds, and FS9 loads in about 10 seconds. Unfortunatly my old GPU is incompatible with my new motherboard, but its a good thing for me! That means a New Video Card!! The wife has already folded and I will have an order in as soon as I can get some ideas from people on what is working.
  9. Well I've read good reviews on it. I have a buyer buy back guarantee so if it doesn't perform well I'll let you know. What Graphics card are you using on that?
  10. Erhan, reading some other posts it seems you have used windows 7 right? Can you tell me some features and reasons windows 7 is the best of xp and vista? Thanks for the response by the way!
  11. As far as I know you'll need Vista to run DX10. -- L. James -- L. D. James [email protected] http://www.apollo3.com/~ljames Really? Hadn't heard that, but sounds good. Should I just wait for Windows 7? If Vista, 32 or 64?
  12. So after much research on the forums here at Vatsim and speaking with a plethora of friends and experts I have made a final decision on the hardware I will use to run FSX and FS9. I was able to find the correct parts and setup for next to penny's on the dollar for a great system! What I have ordered (should be here Thursday or Friday): Intel Pentium D Dual Core 3.4 Ghz 4 Gb DDR2 Ram 500 Gb SATA 2 HD Windows XP Home Edition 500 watt Power Supply DVD+- RW Burner I will have to make a few modifications to the system to get all the results I want, but most of the issues can be fixed
