  1. Airways aren't required for flight in the US, so yes. However, be sure to file a STAR - you pick the most appropriate one and if we need to change it we will.
  2. Even as a compromise, I'd be fine with having to tie in the shortcut manually... at least I don't have to type the FRD

  4. If you aren't sure what the instruction is, then don't move and ask the controller to repeat. [Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming things in aviation usually doesn't work out.
  5. I'd be curious to see how many users still primarily use FS2002 - I can't imagine it's going to be a substantial enough amount to warrant upkeep of a client that supports it. FS2004 is another story, and I don't know the technicals behind why vPilot cannot be used on FS2004, but if such is thing is possible for Ross to do, then ideally we get rid of SB/FSInn and use vPilot.
  6. Fairly easily after experiencing comms in the real world and realizing the interference and/or old radios/audio panels can make it much, much worse (although some people's mics certainly give 'em a run for their money). Agreed. There's just as wide of a disparity between microphones in the real world as there is on the network. Lag is the issue, not the quality.
  7. It does show that there is a a definite interest in updating things however... it's not the same people talking about it over and over.
  8. And yet only one of those groups requires any sort of knowledge. Sounds fair.
  9. It constantly amazes me that every time there is a discussion on ATC training, someone comes in and says, this is not the intent of the GRP and its being misinterpreted and applied incorrectly, but what us being done to fix divisions that are overzealous with their application of standards? It constantly amazes me that every time there is a discussion on ATC training, someone comes in and says, this is not the intent of the GRP and its being misinterpreted and applied incorrectly, but what us being done to fix and clarify the GRP to make the intent more obvious? Because as I read it, ther
  10. And this is because some facilities don't train to work event level traffic. Sure, the training may be more intense and slightly longer, but your knowledge of air traffic procedures will be much greater and you can provide a better service. I'll use this Friday's FNO at MSP as an example - everyone that worked that event has gone through a very rigorous training program at ZMP. Sure, it might have taken a little longer than some other facilities, but look at how smooth the operation went. We had no holds, ran a long final, and had very few issues overall. This comes from both good training
  11. I can't believe this was actually posted to try and get people in trouble. This is literally the least of our current issues.
  12. Voting is now closed. Thank you to all that voted for this year's departure and arrival fields. Expect an announcement of the fields in a few days.
  13. Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but when will the results (i.e. official CTP airports) be announced? Soon.
  14. Did you check the observer box when you connect to the network via vPilot?
  15. Voting for Cross the Pond Westbound 2017 airfields are now open. Votes can be made by logging into the CTP website (ctp.vatsim.net) and clicking on 'Airfield Voting'. You are only allowed to select one departure field and one arrival field, so choose wisely! Voting closes on February 27 at 2359z. We look forward to another successful event and your participation. Regards, Cross the Pond Planning Team
  16. Thats a very broad statement... is their factual evidence that the network is dying? CTP is over booked in hours, a few years ago it used to take weeks for this to book out. Local events in my area are seeing m[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ive increases in member participation. In the training department post christmas we are currently overloaded with [Mod - Happy Thoughts]essment requests. The quartly reports posted by my region suggest that network participation is increasing. So I would be intrested to know what made you come to this conclusion. Controllers are your problem - not th
