  1. Vaporware, but... Rest [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ured someone will insist we're being a bunch greedy inpatient bastards and the client is still being worked on... 3 years later.
  2. Lukes reply above is perhaps one of the most interesting reads I have had on these forums in oh... 13 years. While I still admire RC and his contributions, as well as his intentions behind this decision, Luke hits the nail square on the head multiple times in that reply. Thanks for taking the time to write it Luke.
  3. First and foremost, this is a very admirable move on your part Ross. Secondly, and not as nice, is the mentions here of the "SWIFT" pilot client. This has been in development for nearly 3 years. The progress updates have been sp[Mod - Happy Thoughts] and the dev team routinely has what seem like year long absences (from key members) altogether. I could be wrong, but all the signs point to vaporware. Unless, they kick things into high gear, I wouldn't hold your breath on SWIFT being released anytime soon. I hope I'm wrong.
  4. It's been 2 years in the making. I for one am NOT a fan of people who pester developers about release dates, but at this point I think its fair to at least ask if its going to be 2 more years before this is released.
  5. I think you need to give our users a tad more credit. Every simulator I have used to fly on vatsim for over 10 years has cost me money... so in essence yes, one will need to pay something to fly on vatsim. My point is I think your reasoning for not wanting to help others get connected is a bit over the top. Just my .02 Keep it simple. All you have to say is FSInn is supported and available at no cost for the FSX, FS9, and Xplane platforms. Those using P3dv2 will have to wait until the new freeware client is available. until then, the only workaround for P3d v2 is by using a separate addon
  6. A couple things. Getting FSinn to work with P3D V2 was simple and did not require a ton of work. It took me less than a minute. Yes it requires a payware addon, but I dont know why the program is being demonized because you have to pay 12 bucks for it. Silly. The developer spent a lot of time and energy making that program so that we could enjoy things like vatsim and FSX addons without needing a degree in engineering. I applaud him for that, and gladly paid the 12 dollars to be able to fly on vatsim before the new client comes out. P3d v2 is a big step forward and coupled with vatsim, mak
  7. There are a ton of programs that already do this. FSUIPC being the most popular.
  8. great sending someone to the email link now. Thanks.
  9. Sorry to bring up n old thread, but I'm having this exact same issue. I have used the Dreamwings fanda merge for the Dash 200. The CG is all the way forward and when I take off the plane acts like it wants to do a nose wheelie. Any cure for this?
  10. I appreciate the hard work that went into this, however I sent more than one email with SImCOA.org details and yet it didnt seem to be included. We've been around for over 2 years and have the largest number of active pilots flying under the COA (continental) callsign. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed.
  11. Lance Williams and I put together the very first TGIF event for VCAIR exclusively. It remained that way for a few months before other VA's joined in on it... TGIF became FNO. There you have it, straight from the source.
