  1. I like your ideas a lot. The only catch is we have to start the disconnect clock at FPS < 20 and have the improvement happen before the time expires. We can't have users hanging out below 20FPS for extended periods of time because that's the threshold for slowdown starting. I have no technical knowledge of how it all works, I just know that's when it starts. a couple of frames here or there aren't the problem, it's when we enter slow simulation rate for 30 seconds or more that we really can start seeing issues, or if the user is in and out of slow / normal / slow / normal.
  2. Hello Daniel, What you described is not what actually happens. X-Plane isn‘t freezing. It is literally slowing down the simulation rate to compensate for the low framerate so that it can complete its physics calculations. In these cases, the X-Plane user will see their indicated airspeed appear normal and if they can see their ground speed, that too will look normal. The air traffic controllers see the ground speed that X-Plane is reporting and are doing their sequencing based on that ground speed. The problem is X-Plane is lying about the true ground speed of the aircraft when it slows d
  3. To be blunt, the 20 FPS limiter will be compulsory and all the clients will have this feature with no ability to opt out. While I understand you feel harmed by this decision, the fact is that more users are harmed by you flying at 1/2 rate or worse due to extended low FPS. When we have multiple users with the same issue during busy times, or when we have multiple aircraft at a critical phase of flight such as on final approach, it makes keeping the aircraft in an orderly sequence, or more importantly separated impossible. This is why we need to implement this. You can‘t be disconnected fr
  4. VATSIM is not requiring high end machines. They are requiring that you have your rendering settings in xplane set at a level that won't impact other users. If a users computer can not maintain 20 FPS at the absolute lowest settings in XP11, then that users machine really can't run XP11. Real world radar might update at 3 pings per second, but that's not the point. In those pings, the aircraft is traveling across the ground at the correct rate. This does not happen in cases of xplane slowdown. For example Aircraft is showing a ground speed of 360kts this means he should be covering 6
  5. As stated in the post found at vats.im/fps, All X-Plane pilot clients have functionality built in to automatically disconnect users who fall below 20 frames per second for an extended period of time. This is necessary for smooth operation of the network. You can find tools and suggestions for improving and automatically adjusting your rendering settings at the following links. 8. Happy New Year to all 80,000 plus VATSIM members! We want to thank all of you for your continued participation and volunteer work this year that continues to make VATSIM the number one online flight simulation network in the world. 2019 was a big year for us, highlighted by the long awaited release of our new audio technology, Audio for VATSIM. While Audio for VATSIM was the biggest news of the year, we would be remiss if we did not highlight the other achievements done by our members in the past year. We continued and expanded our presence at flight simulations trade shows such as Flight
  9. Are you joining us at FlightSimExpo in June? Advance Registration is now open for $50 at flightsimexpo.com/register and use the coupon code VATSIM to support VATSIM's presence in Las Vegas and qualify for VATSIM exclusive prizes at our booth! See you in June!
  10. Gents. You can run vpilot off of a proxy server to run a tower view. I’m not sure how it works with euroscope but with vSTARS you type .startproxy Then in vpilot you type .towerview . By doing this you maintain just one connection to the network so it is allowed per the CoC
  11. Dumb question time. Was there online air traffic control? Also you won’t hear that little ding sound when switching frequencies as that’s been removed.
  12. vPilot does not work with xPlane. Please ensure you are using xPilot.
  13. It is technically 30 NM as both airplanes have a 15nm ring. Literally just the tips of those 15 nm rings need to touch to be able to coordinate. As we gain more experience with how voice unicom will work, we will eventually be able to further raise that limit.
  14. Not only for that violate VATSIM’s rules, it’s downright disgusting to think about. VATSIM is free for all, including CTP. It’s not there for individuals to profit. On a side note, how did we arrive at a place where having a CTP slot is so valuable? I just don’t get it. If you don’t get a slot fly the non event route
  15. No. The program has been coded requiring use of .net 4.7. It simply will not work with earlier versions.
  16. Ok. So we will halt release on our next product for the 98% (78,400) of our users for the 1600 exclusively Mac and Linux based users. Appreciate the feedback!
  17. VATSIM wants to thank you for the unprecedented interest, traffic levels, and support we have seen since the launch of Audio for VATSIM on Monday. As we head into our first weekend using our new technology, we are taking some actions to maintain the stability of the voice servers while we continue to isolate and correct an issue that arises when VATSIM exceeds just over 1,000 simultaneous connections. This is not related to server capacity itself, of which we have plenty. As a result of this issue, we will be continuing with a connection limit on each server of 147 simultaneous connection
  18. PSX issues are Gary's forte. He should have a fix for you!
  19. Ground clamping in xplane is just a pain isn't it. make sure you installed the BB_IVAO_vert_offsets_1.2.4 as well. Justin is working on optimizing the ground clamping so this file will no longer be required.
  20. Are you running the Audio for VATSIM Standalone Client? I don't see you reference that anywhere.
  21. This sounds like a cpu issue on on your end. If your processing is really high it can slow down and cause the AFV transmissions to break up on the local machine.
  22. you need to make sure that your audio control panel is correctly set. Com1 volume knob turned up and microphone selected
