  1. I would like to do the shared cockpit as well but I believe that it will only work with default FSX aircraft. You need to have FSX and a multiplayer account set up in order to do it. There are some applications that will allow you to use other aircraft but they cost some money. If you are still interested, let me know and I can help you get set up to do a shared cockpit.
  2. Just saw the Logitec go on sale for $89 after mail in rebate. Thought maybe some of you might be interested. Kirk is this the one you have. If so, how do you like it? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?SID=u0t0f0fp48107c0s701&AID=10440897&PID=1225267&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-cables-_-na-_-na&Item=N82E16826104399
  3. Does anyone use the Astro A40? It might be a bit of over kill for ATC comm but I wondered if there were any gotchas when using it with FS?
  4. .Net framework doesn't (backward version?) the framework. Meaning, you still need version 2.0 installed. Version 3.0 and 3.5 are simply add on's to version 2.0 so they in a sense do a (backward version?) but version 4.0 is it's own monster. It has backward compatibility but not version compatibility. So to make it simple, install .Net 2.0, or do a windows update that installs 2.0. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en
  5. Seems like for pre-departure clearances this could be a very feasible avenue. In fact, as much as they discourage private messages to controllers, in the real world that is essentially what is happening with PDC's. Typically they just read back the squak to ATC to verify that the PDC was received. Why not in vatsim have the FMC send a private chat to ATC for pre-departure and ATC send the read-back including squak in a private message and be done with it.
