  1. As I age, now 61, my hearing does not cope well with the distortion that I hear from VatSim controllers. This has completely put me off using it. I can't keep asking controllers to repeat, it gets embarr[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ing. I've listened to real world comms on countless videos from the Flight Deck and from light aircraft, and I can normally understand that. Therefore I wonder if VATSim is overdoing the distortion, or whether there could be a method introduced whereby users/Pilots have the choice as to how realistic the transmitted sound is?
  2. vPilot becoming available gave me the umph to try VATSIM again, but I kept crashing FSX. The error messages then generated by vPilot must have been as a result of sudden unexpected failure of the simconnect link. ************** Exception Text ************** System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0xC000014B): Exception from HRESULT: 0xC000014B at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ThrowExceptionForHRInternal(Int32 errorCode, IntPtr errorInfo) at Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.SimConnect.RequestDataOnSimObjectType(Enum RequestID, Enum DefineID, UInt32 dwRadiusMeters
  3. Thanks, you got it in one, found in the Junk file and activated. Feel free to delete mgconnor55.
  4. Sorry Ross, but I've been unable to reproduce the effect in XML that caused the problem. Also, I've had a number of crashes on FSX when connected via vPilot, vPilot generates an error dialogue once FSX has died and gone away. I'm glad to tell you that I've managed to reproduce the freeze and CTD using SB, so I think now that in my enthusiasm to build Model Rules, I've overloaded my hanger with PMDG Livery Options. Now uninstalling them all Congratulations on the performance. When I was testing with SB, other peoples aircraft were lurching around, whereas vPilot is really smooth.
  5. Hi Ross, I've not had this exact problem since you sent down an update. By consistant I meant repeatable. I have found another way to break it, and I feel bad sending you stuff like this. I know what a pain it is to develop something and then have all sorts of errors thown at you. Using Microsoft's XML Notepad Editor I tried to insert a record. This had the effect of adding extranious data to the end of some lines, Despite it saying there were no errors. This malformatted Rule file generated a crash with the following data. See the end of this message for details on invokin
  6. Sorry Ross, it is the registration part of the forum I was referring to. I've made an attempt as connomar and mgconnor55 but neither sent me a link to my email.
  7. It's an old one, but the only one I have, so I have created a Model matching set for it. One or two challenges, such as full aircraft type names instead of the standard B738 type, but I've mapped those I could work out. Liveries can be out of date, but it's better than nothing. Please could someone tell me where to send it for sharing? Also, tried to join the forum that Ross sends you to from vPilot, but after two registration attempts, I have to conclude it is broken. Any members of that forum that could inform an admin? Thanks Martin
  8. Whilst testing a ModelMatching rule file I've created for Trafficx, I did some naughty things. I moved my aircraft to different airports so I could find traffic of different types to check that all was well with my rules. Sadly, after several moves, I got a consistant failure, see error message below. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMExc
