  2. Slots have been locked during the night when routes have been finalised so we can send the pilots the emails and facilities a list of people (CIDs) with their slots and departure times. Things cant move after that, Im afraid as all of those have already been distributed.
  3. You forget the airspace capacity. There is a certain limit that can not be extended further. every CTP we see more people crossing oceanic that real-world traffic there (pre-COVID traffic levels). The equation 'more controllers = more planes' is not valid for CTP where we stretch the airspaces we use to their limits. However, lowering the standards for ATC training would only cause more chaos as controllers would not have been trained to perfection as they are now so that they can handle the traffic levels. The time restriction for transferees is in place for a completely different r
  4. Hi all, Please join me in welcoming @Matan Budimir to his new position in VATEUD as Web Services Director. Matan will be moving from his position in the Community Department to exercise his coding skills and experience from various vACCs to help the division modernise its services. Matan is taking over from @Florian Harms in this position, who will be spending more time with another position in a central vatsim.net department. Id like to thank Florian for his many years of service to EUD and the Network and at the same time wish Matan best of luck in his new role.
  5. To add to what Matthew said above, you will get an email with the route and NAT for your booking shortly before the event.
  6. Looks great guys! Well done and congratulations!
  7. Thanks to both of you for the work you have put in! Enjoy the free time you'll get now.
  8. Hi Vincent, You can use this link to check: https://cert.vatsim.net/vatsimnet/statcheck.html You just need to put your CID in there.
  9. Welcome, Alessandro! Look forward to working with you.
  10. Hi all, It gives me great pleasure to announce the rebirth of the French vACC. With this comes a new home for the French community located here: https://vatsim.fr/ The new website provides more stable server with newer architecture and hardware to support the vACC going forward, as well as a discord server for all members to join. The new vACC Director is @Pierre Ferran. Pierre will be introducing his staff team shortly and with this we hope to see a burst of activity and new developments in the area. Please join me in wishing Pierre and his team best of luck in their positions
  11. Hi Daniel, this is the Audio For VATSIM map. What it shows is the radio range of each station, be it a pilot or a controller. To see who is online and what they cover you can use https://map.vatsim.net/ or VATSPY (a very small app that you can install in your PC that shows you a map of online controllers and pilots). There are more options than those two, however, no are perfect to my knowledge in showing the exact sector boundaries. As Matt said before, in more complex airspaces it gets even more confusing for this type of software to correctly show what is what. The best thing to do is
  12. The sidebar seems to be broken for me, this is what I can see:
  13. Totally agree, great posts by the German vACC! Thanks guys. Some shares will be made soon 🙂
  14. The voice server requires capitalised passwords, so it's good to check if your password capitalisation in vPilot is correct. Hope this fixes the issue.
  15. Please join me in welcoming @Svetlin Nikolov 1008143 in his new position as Community Director for VATEUD. Svetlin is bringing his previous VATSIM and real-world experience to help the division prosper.
  16. Don't forget the upcoming changes to the P ratings and in particular, the P0 rating which will be required if a member wants to fly on the network. So in future, new pilots should demonstrate some basic knowledge before being allowed on the network. Furthermore, supervisors are not there to be the bad cops and kick people. Most of all, we are online to help. If a member needs support while connected to the network, they can call for a supervisor to help them. For example, yesterday, I had a lovely educational chat with a new member about flight planning. "Aviate Educate Communicate" 😁
  17. Hi all, To give some behind the scenes information on how this has come to exist in the past months: sadly, for a long time, EUD had not been issuing C3 ratings in any way or form. There were no division examiners, nor the desire from previous training staff (afaik) to resume the programme or consult with vACCs on how the division and the TD should proceed. After a new team stepped in, this was on their to-do list even before I became division director. Since then, we have had multiple meetings where ideas were shared and ultimately, opinions clashed. All vACC TDs in the division wer
  18. CoR §6.01.B.5. “Prohibited conduct” is defined as any conduct which is deemed by the individuals listed in Article VI., §6.04 of this Code of Regulations as being abusive to other members of VATSIM.net and/or detrimental in any way to VATSIM.net. CoR §6.04.B Sole Discretion: It is within the sole discretion of the individual authorized by this rule to determine whether the conduct of a member warrants removal or temporary suspension of said member. As Andreas said, cases where the pilot has forgotten to disconnect for one reason or another are seen most often when it comes to that rule.
  19. Hi John, you can use 'ZZZZ' for airports with no ICAO code and when asked just state your intentions to ATC.
  20. Ah! I was in the process of my morning coffee at the time of replying! 😄 Perhaps it could be added to the list then, Ill drop a message to OPS.
  21. Hi Jeff, You can find a schematic of the London and Scottish sectors here: https://www.vatsim.uk/operations/sectors On the same page there is a list of all the aerodromes with the controllers that may cover them top-down and the order in which you should contact them. I hope this helps, but if you have more questions, fire away! 🙂
  22. Hi all, Please join me in welcoming Mattia Torti who will be assuming the position of Deputy Director of VATEUD. Matt brings a wealth of experience both as a staff member on VATSIM and experience from his personal life. Me and him will be working together with all the division's staff and vACC teams to expedite projects that are currently ongoing and start new ones to benefit the members of the community. Best of luck in the role!
