  1. On Sunday, July 12th, the Dutch VACC will be organising a remarkable event at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol: a Surveillance Radar Approach Night! The purpose of this event is to give pilots an opportunity to fly and practise something else than an ordinary ILS-approaches.We’ll offer you the chance to fly an Surveillance Radar Approach on our main landing runway during which you are “talked down” by a controller giving you precise altitude and heading instructions.   3. VACC Austria and the Dutch VACC are excited to announce the latest city shuttle between Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (EHAM) and Vienna Schwechat (LOWW), linking two important European hubs. The event takes place on Saturday the 27th of June between 17:00 and 21:00 UTC. Join us for some fantastic ATC on some of the world’s busiest airways.   4. Saturday, May 30th will mark the return of Staffed by Staff! Have you ever wondered whether VACC staff are the most experienced guys around? Challenge us! Nothing is too weird, whether you’d like to drop by IFR, VFR or on a local flight. Don’t hesitate to request non-precision approaches, special VFR photoflights or practise your emergencies. Expectations are high and it’s up to our staff to make up for them! The event focusses on Amsterdam Airport Schiphol but you’re welcome to use any other airport in the Amsterdam FIR.   5. The 16th of May 2020 between 1700 and 2100z will see the Dutch VACC and VATSIM UK bring back the ever loved Amsterdam – London Heathrow City Pair. On a typical day, this specific airport pairing will see around 15 flights that connect two of Europe’s largest hub airports. Normally this event is held during September, but the weekend marks the 100th anniversary of the first KLM flight (ever) from London to Amsterdam on 17th of May 1920 in an Airco DH 16.   6. On Sunday, May 3rd, the Dutch VACC invites everyone to join Runway to Holland, a single runway operations event held at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Enjoy the view on final approach of departing aircraft getting ready for take off, and expect short lines at the holding point as you watch aircraft landing. This is not a view that’s commonly seen at Schiphol Airport! The airport will be fully staffed from 17:00 till 20:00 UTC. All kinds of traffic are welcome.   9. On Friday, March 6th the Dutch VACC presents another edition of their famous Friday Night Fly-in, an event in the form of a real operations night at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (EHAM). The purpose of this event is to create an ultra realistic traffic scenario by simulating all real world Friday night movements at Schiphol Airport between 18:00 and 22:00 UTC. Pilots are kindly requested book their flights using our booking system. Please use the listed aircraft types and stick to the timetable as good as you can.
