  1. We've heard your requests, and we understand that the current, colon-delimited datafile has been a pain to deal with and acts as a barrier to entrance for many new developers. As such, we have rewritten the dataserver which comes with a brand new JSON file that includes a 1:1 field mapping with the colon-delimited file. Documentation for this new file can be found here. This is officially v1.0 and is now considered in production. We are also doing our best to embrace open-source and community involvement with our technology, so you can find the code for the new dataserver on our GitHub, h
  2. Hi All, The format of the datafile did not change, but a new "UNIQUE USERS" count was added under the general section which is why the version was bumped. As it appears that Euroscope does not handle version changes, I have changed the version back to 8. Regards,
  3. Can you please confirm that you are connecting to the VATSIM network and not something else by accident? Regards,
  4. Over the past little while, VATSIM's web team has been testing a brand new help desk system to modernize and organize the way issues, and requests are handled at the web team level. This help desk is now fully operational. Should you have any outstanding requests or questions for the VATSIM web team, please send/re-send them to [email protected], and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience while we work on revamping the web landscape of the network Regards,
  5. Alex is correct - SSO will be sticking around
  6. Hi Nick, Approved Regards,
  7. Hi Jeff, Sure thing! Please do note that the map.vatsim.net site and all corresponding APIs are still in early beta and I cannot guarantee the accuracy of either. Furthermore, I'd ask that you rate limit calls to every 5 minutes. Each of these endpoints update every 5 minutes, so calling them anymore often than that is just wasting resources Regards,
  8. Just to update all following this thread, we have narrowed down the issue to HostGator shared hosting. There are no firewall rules on the VATSIM servers that are preventing these connections. We are in the process of working with HostGator to get traceroutes from their shared servers to find exactly where the connectivity issue is occurring.
  9. Hi guys, Are you talking about the METARs on the network? (Eg. in ATC and pilot clients)
  10. If you are using the production SSO and both stopped working at the same time, it seems like a firewall or DNS issue. Can you try pinging cert.vatsim.net from your server? If that fails, try pinging 5.9.159.186. If that still fails, let us know. Hi , Unfortunately , i don't have the option to ping from the server (Hostgator shared hosting .... ) But there is another strange thing - i pinged my server and got completely different IP address from the one i see on cPanel , If i will give you in private message the ip address (the one i got when pinging) can you see if there was try t
  11. All, The demo SSO application is now back up and running. Thank you for your patience and a huge shoutout to Jamie Fox (VATGOV3) for fixing the MySQL daemon that was in a broken state due to an update. Regards,

  14. The demonstration SSO environment is currently inoperable, see this mini-PSA from VP Web. connect() isn't a function that seems to be used anywhere in the IPBoard SSO, could you elaborate a little more? If you're currently using IPB4.3.3 or above, you might need to update to this version of the authentication handler. Hi Kieran , Thank you for replying Maybe im worng and we are talking about two different failures but i will try to be more specific : 1. In wordpress site i get the error i wrote above ("connect() timed out!) , i used BlaatSchaap SSO: VATSIM plugin, it w
  15. If I remember correctly, you want the second set of coordinates. I’m not quite sure what the first set are, but when drawing just the second set on a map, it shows the proper sector. This is all from memory, so I may be wrong.
