  1. The summertime is coming to a close, but on September 20, 2020 there will one last hurrah as Nassau (MYNN) and Atlanta (KATL) will be staffed up from 2100 to 0100z for a crossfire. The lush forests of the south will contrast with the beautiful beaches of the Bahamas. Be careful of the Atlantic though, it gets pretty tricky this time of year.
  2. It's going to get hot and heavy in the middle of the summer between Memphis and Atlanta. Get your flying suits on, it's time for a crossfire. It's going to get pretty hot and humid in the flight deck, so make sure your passengers are comfy with that air conditioning and get flying! These summer destinations will be open on August 15, 2020 from 2300-0300z (7pm-11pm ET).
  3. It's the ZTL FNO in the so-called "City in the Forest". At nearly 47% tree canopy, yep you guessed it, Atlanta (KATL). So on July 17, 2020 we'll be celebrating our eco-friendly airport by staffing it up for 4 hours (2300-0300z). Fill up the busiest airport in the world with your favorite flying materials, but make sure to look out the window and take in the sights of this beautiful city located in the heart of the Southern United States. And if you don't get the tree thing, I swear it's real, check out the website: https://cityintheforest.org/
  4. Join ZTL and KATL on April 18, 2020 from 2359-0400z for a night in the heart of Georgia at the busiest airport in the world (real world that is). We'll be keeping it age appropriate and cracking open some cokes in the tower cab in honor of the Coca-Cola headquarters in Atlanta, and we encourage you to do the same. Bring any plane you got and grab a coke out of the fridge, it's gonna be a busy one!
  5. It's the beginning of a new year, and here at Atlanta, we are honoring the great MLK Jr. on his weekend. Join us as we light up a Friday night on the network, at KATL from 2359-0400z (7pm-11pm ET) on January 17, 2019.
  6. Finally Atlanta, Georgia gets to feel the cool winter after a hot summer. Atlanta averages 85 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer months, whew! Thankfully it's nice and cool now, so we want to celebrate. KATL will have full and wonderful service on December 28, 2019 from 23:59 to 04:00z (7pm-11pm ET).
  7. Join Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the ZTL ARTCC, and friends as we host the 2019 edition of Queen City After Dark. Charlotte (KCLT) and ZTL will be staffed from 23:59 to 04:00z (8pm-12am ET) on November 1, 2019.
  8. Hello. When filing a flight plan in Swift, it requires to put "ft" for feet after the altitude. When I do this, air traffic control has issues with seeing the altitude on their end. For example, when I file 6000 ft on Swift, it comes up on ATC's flight plan as "6000t". Also when I filed 10000 ft once, ATC said there was nothing there at all. Is this a known?
  9. Join ZTL of VATUSA in Atlanta as we host our annual Real-Ops event! This event, in the past referred to as Atlanta Live, will be featuring VATUSA’s busiest airport; Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport! The airport, KATL, which is within 2 hours flying time of 80% of the United States’ population, and features flights to over 70 international destinations in 50 countries around the world, will be fully staffed on June 29th from 2200-0300z (6pm-11pm ET). To reduce delays (due to staffing), we ask that all pilots flying book their flight at https://realops.ztlartcc.org. Alternativ
