  1. Dear all, Please join me in congratulating George Condes (1132702), Rean Opperman (923715) and Nelis Coetzee (1312742) in their appointments within VATAME. George will be [Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming the position of VATAME2 and will [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist me in running the VATAME Region. George has been a VATSIM member for several years and has held many staff positions in Africa and Europe. He has a wealth of experience of the network and will be an [Mod - Happy Thoughts]et to VATAME from a strategic point of view. George vacates the VATSAF1 position that will be filled by Rean Opperman. Rean is a skilled leader and motivator and with Nelis Coetzee, who will fill the VATSAF2 position, have brought a turn around to the South African vACC. I have no doubt that this duo will bring a sense of excitement and positivity to the VASTAF Division. Gentlemen, thank you for your participation and willingness to make the VATSIM experience a pleasant and fun place to be, and congratulations on your respective promotions. POSITION VACANCY: VATME1 Applications should be sent to the Region Director for VATAME: [email protected] PREREQUISITES: The application should include an on VATSIM and off VATSIM CV and member's VATSIM ID number, name, email etc. Applicants should at least: A) Compile quarterly Division reports to the Regional Director for VATAME. B) hold at least a C1 ATC rating (CTR Controller). C)A familiarity with VATME ATC operations and regulations. D)Demonstrated past experience in staff rolls, or other managerial experience E) be a member in good standing of VATME Division with a clean VATSIM record. F)The ability to communicate clearly and professionally through various mediums to people of different experience levels and cultures. G)Establish and maintain partnerships with Virtual Airlines, developing relationships for continued collaboration. H)Inviting applications and appointing qualified personnel to fill vacant staff positions. I)Providing strong leadership, direction and vision to Division staff. J)Must be at least in VATME Division between 6 to 15 months. REPORTS TO: VATSIM Regional Director for AFRICA & MIDDLE EAST, VATAME1 Onec again, the applicants must be capable of committing significant free time into this position, a minimum of 5 hours per week . Interested persons need to be able to communicate and set clear visions and targets and see these implemented and followed up throughout the division. The role reports to the Region Director for Africa and Middle East and is accountable for the sustainable growth of the division, achieved through retention of members (new and existing), training, development and progression of controllers as well as maintaining an active community base through communications, marketing and events. Divisional policy should be maintained and reviewed to facilitate this. This is a high profile position and ideally we are looking for long term commitment 2 to 3 years as a minimum.   5. Dear all, VATSIM AFRICA & MIDDLE EAST REGION announces that it will receive applications for the position of VATAME Deputy Director [VATAME2]. Applications open until the position is filled. Please include a short CV with a covering letter, that addresses at a minimum each of the essential attributes. Duties and Responsibilities: • Strategic growth of the region, working with partners within the region and in neighbouring areas. • Manage the timetable of key events within VATAME. • Support the roll out of the Pilot Training Scheme across the region. • A pragmatic and diplomatic approach to problem-solving, yet resilient in character. • Previous experience in a position of responsibility. • Look for ways to improve partnerships with Virtual Airlines. • [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist the Region Director in ad hoc duties. • Able to commit at least 3 to 4 hours per week to administrative tasks. • Reports back to VATAME1. • Helps to recruit and lead a team of staff. • Other duties as required by the needs of VATAME1. • Deputise for the Region Director in his absence. Candidate Specification: • Minimum C1 rating due to the level of exposure to ATC Training required. • Completion of any of the pilot ratings will be a plus. • At least two years experience in network management, though relevant real world experience will be considered in lieu of this. • A clean VATSIM disciplinary record. F)Establish and maintain partnerships with Virtual Airlines, developing relationships for continued collaboration. G) Inviting applications and appointing qualified personnel to fill vacant staff positions. H)Providing strong leadership, direction and vision to Division staff. I) Must be at least in NAF Division between 6 to 15 months.
