  4. As VATCAR continues to make technical advancements, we’re seeking to expand our VATCAR Information Systems Team (IST). We’re looking for people with knowledge and background in front end and back end development. We’re looking for those with experience at minimum in HTML, CSS, Basic JS, and Bootstrap for front end and PHP, MySQL, Git for back end development. Experience with MVC frameworks is useful, as is experience with AJAX and REST APIs. Developers can be either front or back end, or both. 7. This, with a few other things, are on the to-do list.
  8. Charlie- There's solutions in the works. It's a matter the BOG is aware of and working to try and prevent these users from what they are doing to ruin the experience.
  9. +5... I've had the pleasure of having you in my airspace as both a pilot and controller. I agree with the statement by Ross 100%, I've had you in my airspace during a busy FNO and you readback as fast, if not, faster than other pilots. Don't let these experiences pull you away from VATSIM. You're welcome to fly wherever I'm controlling anytime.
  10. Mark, the latest update is in the post right above yours.
  11. Since I've departed my positions with the Caribbean Division, it appears they no longer have an interest in maintaining this project. I will, however, be resuming the maintenance of this project on my own as it's transferred to a more permanent location. So hang tight, there'll be a new URL to access a website for this project. For now, the repository on GitHub can be accessed here. The master data file can be obtained by clicking here. To get in touch with me related to updates to this file, either send me a PM here for now or a pull request on GitHub.
  12. Matt/Alex, great idea but the notes above concern me slightly. Surely the whole point of requesting a clearance is that you then receive a clearance back? If not, what's the point of developing a CPDLC-esque way of requesting clearance if it's not going to be acknowledged? Or indeed having controllers providing a service on a Clearance Delivery frequency? For Eastbound 19, are we going to s[Mod - lovely stuff] the need for Oceanic Clearance then and rely on pilots telling Gander that they'll be here then and that's that? This is a great initial implementation but I hope it doesn't rest there. From a Developmental perspective, it would be outstanding to have it integrated with swift so that the CD controller can tick a box and a message is then sent either via PM or on frequency. In the meantime, perhaps the CD controllers can either: - have a clearance generated on screen that they can copy and paste back to the pilot via a controller client or - have a pre-set alias file distributed for the different NAT tracks that they can use to do the same I had a few pilots confused about it on frequency this afternoon and I know controllers had no idea what was supposed to happen. But a clearance request should receive a clearance back... Trevor, Thanks for the feedback. This certainly isn't a resting point, but just a beginning. We'll take this feedback into consideration for future versions of the application.
  13. All Oslo slots are booked. 111 slots booked in 5 minutes.
  14. Bookings this year are being staggered. The release schedule is... EDDH 19:30Z EIDW 19:30Z EHAM 20:00Z EGKK 20:30Z
  15. Eric, are you talking about a strictly weather related PIREP system? Not to be the downer on this, but it's been discussed in the past and the main roadblock that seems to come up is the wide variety of WX engines in use, and the lack of any consistency of WX in the platform (ex, a cloud in one sim won't be in the same place for two people even if they are using the same engine, etc.)
