Yellow taxiway lines???
Graham Sanders 892576 replied to Erik Mueffler 972060's topic in X-Plane User Discussion
Hi, I use a chart, which I have open with Preview and just switch between the chart and xplane. Also I write something like "using Mac, no taxiway info" in the comments box of xsqwarkbox. -
Connecting t the network

Hi, I use 8.20, but I think 6.7 would be the same. You can only connect while in x-plane, under the plug-in menu. Graham -
Hi, Well I cannot speak for the PC, but on the Mac if I have these sorts of troubles, I trash the preferences file(s). This will get you back to the defaults. However, since it seems as if there is a problem louding resources, then I would trash my preferences and re-install the software. As regards to the "Totally insane" settings, it is just what it says I know that I would not be able to run x-plane on this setting. Why is it there? Well it is part of the culture of x-plane. Austin Meyer (the mind behind it) wants x-plane to have the option of running past the specs of every c

Hi, It sounds to me that most of your problems can be solved very quickly. If you are only seeing water, then the scenery for that area is not installed. Try installing the scenery again. To connect to Vatsim, you will need your id and p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word first. Then you need to get the program xspwarkbox at www.xsquawkbox.net Follow the instructions, and you should be up and running in a few minutes. In answer to 4, In the notes section write that you are observing and choose an airport with ATC, but sit somewhere out of the way. Graham

I personally use Goodway for routing. I think that it was one of the best software buys I have made. It does everything you need it to. Graham -

Should I try X-Plane
Graham Sanders 892576 replied to Bob Zambenini 818786's topic in X-Plane User Discussion
Hi, If you are interested in the way the thing flies, than by all accounts x-plane is more closer to real life. Here is a quote from x-plane.com: "Fidelity Flight Simulation has obtained FAA approval (docomeented here) to train pilots towards their COMMERCIAL CERTIFICATE, INSTRUMENT RATING, and AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT CERTIFICATE. This training is done in a full-motion simulator, using X-Plane as the simulator software!" Now, what I don't like is that the airport senery is basically not there, however, on a Mac I am glad to have a flight sim! Checkout the demo on the website (w -

Believe me, if I could, I would, but I can't, so I shan't -
I have a plugin idea. A plugin that would let you load the charts from a PDF and the display them in x-plane. Graham

Getting frustrated about airports

Hil, all I am getting a bit frustrated about airports in x-plane. Since I am new to Vatsim, I am at the observing stage, and so often I think that I am sitting somewhere out of the way, and then I find out that I am on a taxiway. What is the best way to solve this? Thanks, Graham
