  1. Over the last 10 years, Canadian Xpress has visited some of the most amazing airports around the world and Paro is no exception. This flight is one of the most enjoyable and challenging fly-in events we have ever done. This month we are Returning to an event from November of 2012 and revisiting Paro, Bhutan. Paro Airport is the only international airport in Bhutan. The airport is located 4 miles from Paro in a deep valley on the bank of the river Paro Chhu. With surrounding peaks as high as 18,000 ft it is considered one of the world's most challenging airports. As of October 2009, on
  2. It’s time for a little fun. Let’s leave those little hills of 6,000 feet behind and head for some real skiing at 9,000 feet. This month, you are the charter pilot for those looking to get away from the boring little ski areas at Lake Tahoe (KTVL) and head for the bigger mountains around Telluride (KTEX) with either the Canadian Xpress® freeware or payware Beechcraft 1900D, Beechcraft Duke, Cessna Citation X, Pilatus PC-12, Pilatus PC-24 or Embraer Phenom 300 which are available to all pilots regardless of rank but only for the challenge. 3. For 2019 in celebration of our 10th year of operations, we will revisit some of our fly-ins from past years. 4. In celebration of our 10th anniversary, this month we go way back to the beginning of our monthly challenges to where it all began and fly our very first challenge from the Fall of 2009, Check Rides. In that event, we flew the Cirrus SR-20 from Les Cedres (CSS3) just outside of Montreal to Mont-Tremblant (CYFJ). It was a simple little 70nm trip just to test everything out. This month, your challenge is to fly the same route but after 10 years the scenery & aircraft have improved and should make for an enjoyable flight experience. Join Canadian Xpress today in order to particip
  5. This month, we make our annual trip to St. Maarten. which was heavily damaged during the Category 5 hurricane Irma back in September of 2017. It’s going to be years before the island fully recovers from one of the strongest storms in recorded history. However, the islands tourist industry is back in full swing, the beaches and resorts are open and ready for those who are looking for some sun in the fun. Canadian Xpress would like to invite all pilots & virtual airlines to join us on Saturday, December 29th from 10h00est (15h00z) to 13h00est (18h00z) and 21h00est (Sunday 02h00z) to 24h0
  6. After nearly 10 years of calling Montreal home, the lease is up on our office space at Montreal (CYUL) and we are heading west to Edmonton (CYEG). That means we have a lot of office equipment, spare parts, and airplanes to get out of Montreal before December 31st. Any newer pilots looking to jump ranks are going to love this. Time is tight to make this all happen, so we are authorizing double time pay to move some aircraft. For every flight hour you log, we’ll give you double the hours. This month, your mission is to fly from Montréal (CYUL) to Edmonton (CYEG) with any Canadian Xpress®
  7. That is correct. There are two events, in order to accommodate pilots in different time zones. 1400z to 17h00z and one at 0100z to 0400z. Regards,
  8. FedEx Corporation is an American multi-national courier delivery services company headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. The name "FedEx" is a syllabic abbreviation of the name of the company's original air division, Federal Express (now FedEx Express), which was used from 1973 until 2000. The company is known for its overnight shipping service and for pioneering a system that could track packages and provide real-time updates on package location, a feature that has now been implemented by most other carrier services. 9. Gibraltar Airport is considered a hazard for aircraft because the Rock of Gibraltar sits ever so close to the runway. Approaching planes have to curve sharply over the Bay of Algeciras before touching down to land. Furthermore, the facility literally has a road cutting through it. Both cars and planes must wait patiently for each other to p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]. Understandably, this creates a disturbance in the airport’s operations. This month, your mission is to fly from Barcelona (LEBL) to Gibraltar Airport (LXGB) with either the Canadian Xpress Boeing 737-700/900 or Airbus A318/A31
  10. Founded in 1729, Baltimore is the second-largest seaport in the Mid-Atlantic. The city’s Inner Harbor was once the second leading port of entry for immigrants to the United States and a major manufacturing center. After a decline in major manufacturing, industrialization, and rail transportation, Baltimore shifted to a service-oriented economy, with Johns Hopkins Hospital (founded 1889) and Johns Hopkins University (founded 1876), now the city's top two employers. With hundreds of identified districts, Baltimore has been dubbed a "city of neighborhoods". Famous residents have included writ
  11. Agatti Island is a remote island off the coast of India that is only accessible by boat or airplane. Being that it’s located on a tiny archipelago, the airport doesn’t have a lot of space for airplanes. Its runway is only 4,235 feet in length, making it too short to accommodate most commercial aircraft. The facility is about to undergo an expansion, which will see the existing runway expanded by 1,100 feet. They will also construct a new terminal building and parking area. In the future, it will be able to handle an Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. Back when it was built in 1988, the only p

  17. Can anyone access the VATCAN web site? I am getting a message stating that the account has been suspended. http://vatcan.ca
  18. Velana International Airport, also known as Malé International Airport is the main international airport in the Maldives. It is located on Hulhulé Island in the North Malé Atoll near the capital island Malé. Today, the airport is well connected with major airports around the world serving as the main gateway into the Maldives for tourists. The airport is on an island of its own with no run off room at the end so be ready to go around or you could get your feet wet, should you land long. This month's challenge is to see how well you can fly from Bandaranaike Int'l Airport (VCBI) in Sri Lank
  19. A standard AI Traffic library similar to IVAOs MTL Library that would work with all platforms (flight sims) including GA traffic.
  20. 1. As they are both 64-bit, they both perform well in Windows 10. 2. P3D currently seems to have more commercial aircraft available than XPL. 3. I prefer P3D, but this is bias as I have been flying the Microsoft platform since FS9. I have tried XPL, but prefer P3D. Regards,
