  1. VATSIM Hong Kong VACC is seeking applications for the position of Manager, Streamer Relations (ACCHKG10). The primary responsibilities of the position include: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with VATSIM members who also regularly broadcast (or stream) their VATSIM network activities as either pilots or controllers (“streamers” hereafter) on online platforms to promote the awareness of Hong Kong VACC Develop partnership with streamers to attract increased member presence within Hong Kong FIR Coordinate with Manager, Events to provide air traffic control to streamers and their entourage on request. Report to the Director of Hong Kong VACC every quarter on work in progress and future plans If business needs require, become the immediate head of the functional department (i.e. Department of Streamer Relations) and collaborate with Assistant Manager, Streamers and/or consultants Position requirements: Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application Be a member of the VATSIM network for no less than 12 months at the time of application Have a clean VATSIM record for no less than 12 months at the time of application Hold a VATSIM controller rating of S3 or higher Fulfill the requirements listed within the Hong Kong VACC Facility General Policy (HKVACC-P001) Have thorough knowledge of VATSIM policies and local policies of VATSEA and Hong Kong VACC Have a basic understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Have highly proficient English oral and written communication skills as English is the working language of Hong Kong VACC Have an in-depth understanding of the local and global flight simulation streamer communities Be able to maintain positive communication with local streamers at the minimum in English Have the ability to engage a community of local flight simulator streamers in the most effective manner Be able to dedicate an average of 30 minutes per day to this position The ideal candidate should: Hold a VATSIM ATC rating of Controller (C1) or higher Have prior experience as a streamer on major streaming platform(s) Have proficient written and spoken communication skills in Chinese (Cantonese) and English. Proficiency in written or spoken communication skills in languages other than Chinese (Cantonese) and English are consider a big bonus.   10. Dear fellow members, It is a pleasure to announce that Mr Oscar Chui has been appointed as the Deputy Director of Hong Kong VACC after a thorough search process. Oscar has been a controller of Hong Kong VACC for a year and a half and a member of VATSIM for almost 4 years. During his time in Hong Kong VACC, he has worked very hard to earn his ratings and has been sharing the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ion with other members through his work as a mentor of the VACC. Oscar is eager to continue to help others through his new role as the Deputy Director. In the real world, Oscar is a university student working on his degree in Aviation. He hopes to enrich the organization with his knowledge in aviation and to improve the operation of the VACC through his experience. As the Director of the VACC, I am very please to have Oscar as a new member of the management team. I am looking forward to collaborate with him to improve the quality of our service and continue the growth of the organization.   11. NOTAM 1NOV15 – WORLDFLIGHT 2015 1. INTRODUCTION On 1 November 2015, the WorldFlight event will occur throughout the week and will be visiting Hong Kong Intl Airport (VHHH). ETA for the charity flights is 2110 UTC. ETD for the charity flights is 2240 UTC. For more information, visit http://www.worldflight.com.au/ops/schedule/. Hong Kong VACC will provide full coverage ATC service between the hours of 2000 UTC and 2359 UTC. This NOTAM will provide pilots with information about ATC requirements with regard to air traffic management. Pilots should endeavour to comply with these requirements to minimize delays and disruption. 2. PRE-DEPARTURE CLEARANCE ATC may elect to issue pre-departure clearance to aircraft on the ground with correct flight plan filed when departure traffic volume is higher than normal. If that is the case, pilots will be notified via ATIS message “PRE-DEPARTURE CLEARANCE IN USE”. If a pilot has received pre-departure clearance from Hong Kong Delivery via private text message, there is no need to contact Hong Kong delivery. Such pilot may contact the appropriate Hong Kong Ground controller for push back and start up clearance. 3. LANDING RUNWAY Due to high traffic volume during the event, pilots may be [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to use either the north RWY (RWY07L/25R) or the south runway (RWY07R/25L) for landing. Final [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ignment will be advised by Hong Kong Approach. Pilots shall be prepared to land on either runway. This is effective between 2000 UTC and 2359 UTC, 1NOV15. 4. HOLDING FUEL ATC anticipate a maximum airborne delay of 30 minutes. Pilots should carry sufficient holding fuel to absorb this delay. 5. RESERVED GATES The following gates at Hong Kong Intl Airport (VHHH) will be reserved between 2030 UTC and 2300 UTC for WorldFlight charity flights: E1, E2, E3, E4, S23, S25 6.   14. As part of the effort to make training operation at Hong Kong VACC more efficient, a training session calendar (based on Google calendar) has been created. Controllers, local and visiting alike, are invited to check this calendar periodically for training sessions that may be interest to them. Sessions that welcome walk-in students are marked and no sign-up will be required. These sessions will be held on the VATSEA TS server. To gain access to this TS server, please contact your instructor or any division/VACC staff members. As always, controllers are welcome to schedule one-on-one training sessions with their instructors if the already-scheduled sessions do not fit their availability.
