another one bites the dust,
sorry to see you leave mate, thanks for all the help from our vatsim members/staff
-
thanks for the tip.
I knew about live air traffic in the web, but
Is it possible to listen virtual flights?
What if I´d like to start a virtual flight? Shall I submitt a flight plan via Flight Simulator?
Juan
you can listen to virtual pilots talking to atc via squawkbox...well if you're flying on vatsim, you need to file 2 flights,1 on vatsim itself and 1 on squawkbox.

Hi,
is anybody there?
I´m a rookie here, I don´t know how to start at least listening ATC.
Is there any chance to just listen for a while?
I´m a pilot in real life, and I want to train english ATC.
Juan
try liveatc.net that might help

I wish the problem had been resolved as for yesterday and today I can not enter the website, I also can not use the OSP and the ACARS software.
Also not the www.bavirtual.org, even when I use the IP address.
Carlos Oosterling
The issue has now been resolved and the site is available from both domains.

It's very simple for me. I'll just respect the controllers request, not give him anymore handoffs and send them to UNICOM.
What happens when the aircraft on UNICOM collides with an aircraft still talking to ATC?
Then all those virtual p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]engers go down in flames!
am i supposed to laugh Nick or cry?..tell me please...
-
Right, Paul, I hear ya. Again, I've rethought this today and we're definitely not going to MAKE anybody do this. I don't want to scare anybody away by some dumb rule.
so why post it in the first place?

Aside from ascertaining the information you described the next step is to arrange for a controller to handle the emergency instead of choking the frequency which is now needed to clear the airspace to allow the plane to land. In all likelihood the final controller will sterilize their airspace because its not likely the runway will be clear anytime soon. Thats the reaction if he declares an emergency, if not then it could be treated as a typical arrival. Approach is also obligated to inform the tower of the impending emergency so they can make necessary arrangements, fire trucks, whatever the planes dispatch requires, pilot request, etc.
i usually ask ground for a cup of coffee on arrival at the gates..some atc's think im stupid

Does anyone want to take a dive into this otherwise cold pool of water ?

Hi VATUSA,
I am having an increasing number of student controllers that are getting very confused with the information presented on our own website. To be honest, I think there is way too much incorrect information being presented to future VATSIM members that want to control in VATUSA. I understand there has been a TON of change recently throughout VATUSA and VATSIM, so I am writing this thread in the hopes that we can get all information standardized and up-to-date.
Area of concern:
The whole Controller Training website.
- Director's Welcome (change the VATUSA3 name?)
- Training Projects
- Controller Tips
- A major overhaul of the rating information is needed.
-Thanks for listening. I would be willing to help with this if it is needed.
Harlod,
when you meant an increasing number of student controllers that are getting very confused with the information presented on our own website, did you also mean about the atc test?because if you did,i think we need to change the way the test is set out so that other future atc "wannabees" as i call it, can understand the test a bit more.i am currently not undergoing atc training as yet as i have failed a lot of the tests and also i am on study leave in australia till mid oct, nov.so when i get back to singapore then i will probably start my atc training then
any queires? please do not hesitate to post here or pm me.
cheers mate

I've seen a few threads in the past where the phraseology of "cleared direct" versus "proceed direct" was discussed, and most of them ended with people being unsure. From what I gather, "cleared direct" is in the 7110.65, although "proceed direct" is generally accepted as-well. Has anyone heard/learned anything otherwise lately?
Listening to LiveATC, I hear them instructing aircraft in both ways, so there must be some degree of acceptance to it. Just curious if anyone does it one way over another for any specific reasons?

I had just departed Miramar in an F-18 going to practice some AAR with another vMarine who was in a KC-130. LAX CTR was online and had just given me vectors to the MOA, I was with the KC130 Driver on TS also. KC130 Called up for IFR Clearance, but hit the wrong PTT and broadcasted over TS, I just said "Wrong button." He then immediatly came over the CTR Freq saying "Oh, S***! Oops sorry! Request IFR to...
Laughed at that one a while
My funniest moment, wasn't on vatsim but ill share it with yall anyway, well it here it goes, i was doing my pilot training at YMMB and i taxxied, and when i was at the hold short point, i went,Moorabbin Tower, and i was trying to get Oscar Lima Sierra outta my mouth, but instead i said otca, lima, sierra, i said it 3 times!,and i'm like, oh jesus, and the ATC controller who took my call probably wet his pants at the end of my transmission...

Sounds to me like you answered your own question correctly. An airport in cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] E is still "untowered" even though it's in controlled airspace.
lol..
sorry was a bit funny
