  1. Hello everyone, I’m the COO for VIRVirtual; I wanted to let you know on behalf of our CEO, we are currently accepting new applications for pilots to join our amazing VA, whilst our main focus is the Virgin group, we also have over 150 airlines that you can fly with incl. Cargo Ops and in excess of thousands of routes to choose from. We are also shown not only as a Partner VA with VATSIM, but also shown over at va-list, competing with other VAs from around the globe & are currently #6 of #788. If you don’t believe me, go on over and check VIRVirtual out. We would also be very grateful if you were to vote for our VA, to help us in getting to the top spot for this month too! We currently support Flight Simulator 2004, Flight Simulator X, X-Plane 11, FSX Steam Edition, Prepar3D and Flight Simulator 2020. We have our own dedicated Discord server; whereby you can discuss all things flight sim, IRL flying, posting of screenshots of flights, memes and so on. There's also an events announcements page which we currently have a poll running; until Sun 09/10/22 & we're looking to set up regular events again. If you have 30 seconds, feel free to pop over to the poll link and vote as we are very interested to know what your thoughts are on events within our VA. We have also decided that with these events, there will be a friendly competition running; landing rate challenge; which comes with a sim market voucher for the winner and best screen shot from the event; to be shown on our socials; Facebook, Twitter & Instagram. So, if you are looking for VA, where you can fly a number of different airlines and looking to be a part of the flight sim community, then head on over to VIRVirtual and apply today! You’ll soon be ‘soaring to new heights’! VIR2 | Chris Gomersall | CEO VIRVirtual VIR4 | Luke Turner | COO VIRVirtual
  2. Virtual United Airlines is marking its 10th anniversary with a website relaunch, a new URL (www.virtualual.com) and a group flight on July 10. “We want the simming world to know we’re fresh, fun and ready for the next 10 years,” says chief executive officer Gary Price. He adds the airline launched its first Discord server in June to keep pilots informed about virtual airline (VA) news and upcoming events. “Our pilots can use that technology to chat with one another during a flight and they will be able to ‘drop into’ another pilot’s flight deck to watch them handle a tricky landing, or learn about flying a different type of aircraft.” Expect that server to be hopping during the VA’s anniversary event on July 10. “One of our premiere events for 2021 will be a group flight between Chicago’s O’Hare airport and Intercontinental in Houston,” adds Price. “This flight will be open to the entire simming community so we hope to have a lot of pilots online with us. If they later decide to join our virtual airline, well, that’s great!” The virtual airline built its new website for the future by adding a sleek, modern exterior to its operations while upgrading its technology. The new website supports Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS-FS9), Lockheed Martin’s Prepared, and Laminar Research’s X-Plane. Many of its pilots fly on the Virtual Air Traffic Simulation network (VATSIM), where they see aircraft flown by other online fliers and get direction from people acting as air traffic controllers. vUAL also allows for offline flying, provided pilots use our simple and easy ACARS program for flight tracking. “During an online event, you’ll check in with a variety of controllers on the ground and in the air, much like you would flying a real commercial flight,” says Price. “We’re proud to be a VATSIM partner, promoting online flying.” In 2020,Virtual United pilots flew 83,000 hours on approximately 23,000 flights, everything from short hops on regional jets to round-the-world tours in the latest intercontinental aircraft. 3. Here we are, 6 months into 2020. I am sure we can all agree it has been a strange start to the year and an even stranger start to the new decade. For those of you unaware, it is also 14 months since vBAW (Formerly vBA) changed ownership, staff team and set on a new course. We have introduced a new News page on the website, and uploaded 3 news articles from the Community, Operations and Technology teams with their mid-year update. You can find the news page here: https://www.vbaw.uk/community-news/ We also have our Mid-Year Community Feedback Survey! SurveyMonkey says it will take about 10 minutes, though we are seeing it done in a lot less! This survey is important as it allows us to get your feedback on how we are doing and where you would like your community to go. It will be available till the end of the month. So please if you have some spare time, go check it out. The survey can be found on our Discord and on the VA. Links can be found below. 5. Hello! My name is Kareem Mohamed, I am one of the staff members in GCC VA. I something caught my eye as I was cruising on the VATSIM website, our VA is not listed as partnered with VATSIM. Even though Tim Wong made the announcement, we aren't listed, were we removed? Kareem GCC VA Staff Team
  6. Hello, Does VATSIM keep some kind of logs of our online flights? If so, how do we access that? My VA's server was down, but I flew a mission online/VATSIM anyway, then when the VA's server came back online I filed a manual PIREP; the VA is asking for my flight log for the flight I did on VATSIM. ??? Thanks
  7. Okay so I am a staff at VATSIM Saudi Arabia, or vACCSA in the Middle East and Africa region. I have been noticing lately as the number of members increase with an increase in ATC training request and Pilot activity in our vACC, that most of these individuals come from a VA (Virtual Airlines), a local one. The problem is, they join the VA and the vACC knowing that all these services such as Pilot and ATC training, member support, and events hosted by the vACC all to be a part of this VA in subject and not the vACC. Basically they have no idea what vACC is or what vACCSA is. So, I want to change that, I want to invite the whole VA for a discord meeting and would like to explain the difference between VA and vACC. But I just cant figure out how to start it off, the correct way to differentiate between them. This might be very silly, but a few point would help a lot. Thanks .
  8. vAAirlines is proud to announce that the work that began in the fall of 2019 has been completed and the official opening of our airline has now taken place! vAAirlines was an idea that stemmed from a member of the real world American Airlines Group, Inc. (AAG) who wanted to create the most realistic and immersive virtual experience modeled after the real world American Airlines. vAAirlines recognizes that there are other options when choosing an American Virtual Airline and knew that key differences would need to be highlighted to ensure that the market was provided with a truly unique experience. This recognition was the inspiration to create our three main principles which include freedom, experience, and progression. But what do those mean to us? Freedom - It should be your choice to fly online with any network and the real world flight numbers or offline with or without your own AI packages, so it is. While we encourage our pilots to utilize the VATSIM network as much as possible to maximize the realism in their flight experience, we recognize that sometimes you are just not able to log on to the network and should not be punished for that. Experience - We believe in putting out our stats, policies, and your accomplishments on display. Our responsive team means you get answers, not ticket numbers. Your experience should start right when you arrive on our home page and not once you sign up. We let you see the kind of organization you are joining before even hitting the "Sign Up" button and make sure that you have everything that you need once logged in to succeed. Progression - No "pay to play" of any kind. Our ranks are earned through both experience and knowledge with help from our revolutionary Check Airman program. We want you to progress through the ranks while learning about the aircraft and airspace that you are flying in and not by paying for a premium membership or worrying about website ads, donation buttons, or "stock options". The world is waiting. Are you ready to take flight into an extremely rewarding and immersive experience with us? Check out our "About Us" page or simply visit us at www.aalva.org to see just what we are about. Welcome to vAAirlines, An American Virtual Airline. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to flying with you all very soon! -TH
