I just heard that some people cannot login to our forum. So, here's a link to the download site: http://www.mediafire.com/?zaj9d4iecdy151w

I asked the author whether he could include the user manual into this download as well. Let's see.

This does look really good, I will have to try it out!

Any chance this could be expanded to include clearance delivery and oceanic? For delivery RW in the UK the system we use is actually automatic or semi-automatic (depending on setting used) so if something like that could be done that would be even better.

I'm quite happy to provide some info about how the PDC system works here if that's needed. But this looks like a very interesting plugin. I have been putting off datalink on vatsim because it is quite workload intensive (which is the opposite of what you want with CPDLC) but this looks like a step in the right direction.

Now if it could be integrated into the tag as well, that would be amazing!

Ok, I've got it installed and working now for KZWY.

Should be testing it out this week if anyone using CPDLC would like to fly thru KZWY (New York Oceanic) airspace.

Ok, I've tested this out a little with a friend. Doesn't seem like position reports work for this. Or any ACARS/TELEX. =( Maybe add that stuff in?

PDCs or Oceanic Clearance options would be a BIG plus to add into the plugin as well.

If the Airbus A319 has a system that can log into the hoppies network, then it will work with any ATC system that also uses the hoppies network, speak to Aerosoft or the aircraft developer.

Hi guys,

another update from the developer for an upcoming new version (by the weekend).

  • All Plugin related Files are now stored in the same Folder as the Plugin itself
  • All Config Values are now stored in a separate ini File
  • Standard Departure Clearance via Datalink now Implemented
  • You can now set your Logon Code in Runtime via the Chat Command .login CODE
  • Some Login/Handoff Bugs fixed

I think I beat the gun! No departure functionality on the download.

Downloaded and installed this morning. Works fine apart from no one to test it on yet.

Sorry, I am currently at work and travelling around. The download link posted earlier on should still work. Let's all use and promote it actively to get more pilots interested in it. Maybe a theme-evening is needed.

Unfortunately, I've tried the "updated" plug-in. To me nothing has changed. And yes, I uninstalled the original one and deleted it before installing the update.

Any luck on a new link? or updating the current one?

The problem with widespread use is that it isn't integrated into any aircraft's FMC/CDU! (Except PS1)

I believe the new aerosoft Airbus has a system installed within for exactly this.

If someone could talk to hoppie and aerosoft and they could find something that works with the Airbus x it would be good and lead to widespread use.

Hoppies CPDLC is open and free - all the information required to integrate is on his website, including the source code in Tcl/Tk

http://www.hoppie.nl/acars/system/tech.html

Hoppie is still around, but believe it or not he has moved from writing code for simulators as a hobby, to working for an avionics firm developing and installing similar communications technologies in aircraft around the world

Does the aerosoft airbus system actually work? Or is it just a cosmetic thing?

indeed the download link of the interim version is different from the one that I had posted initially (V1.0.1), I did not realize this until now.

You can download the current release version through THIS LINK.

PS: version 1.0.2 comes with a revised user manual and please note that you have to copy datalink.ini into the same directory where you have installed CPDLCApp.dll. After copying the file, open it with a text-editor and enter your Hoppies Logoncode. Save it and fire up Euroscope

Ok, I've done all of this, and to me, it still looks like the original v1.0.1. But does say v1.0.2.

What has changed? Other then the file structure?

According to the new features list of the new Aerosoft Airbus, "Our version will start to work the moment IVAO and/or VATSIM will support it."

So functional, not cosmetic.

Its not vatsim that runs ACARS, VATSIM has nothing to do with it, the server is run by hoppies, and people make plug ins to connect to that server.

Hoppies software is all open source, all aerosoft have to do is connect it to that server, this has been said before. I might go stir up the aerosoft forums.

As far as VATSIM implementation goes, VATPAC uses CPDLC as we made a plug in to suit Euroscope.
