Hey guys just wondering if these specs would be good enough to run FSX on high settings and if not what settings would you say?

Intel Core i5

@ 2.27

6GB RAM

ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470 Graphics

512MB

Definitely not high settings.. medium settings perhaps, it can still look good and fly good.

The problem with that spec is the graphic card just a tad underpowered.

p.s. just followed the link, it's a laptop. GFx cards in laptops are notoriuosly underpowered and are extremely difficult to upgrade to anything better, in this case size does matter.

This is a laptop correct? Then no, it really has no room to breathe and you also have to consider that your are buying from Sony which like other companies, load it up with useless software that bottleneck the system.

FS9 will be best but barely. Go desktop or build your own for a hell of alot cheaper. We just made my friend a good computer and the price was under 500 USD

It's a lot more than what I had for years. It ran FSX quite well. If you have problems with FSX, I'd be glad to help. But I can't imagine you having problems with those specs.

I'd definitely go with FSX if I were you. It's been years since I've worked with a brand new Laptop. So, again none of the older Laptops had anywhere near the specs of yours and they all ran FSX without any problems.

I might purchase a new Laptop today if Walmart doesn't run out of them by the time I make it to the store on Black Friday. I won't fight the crowd, but I'll visit later to see what they have left. FSX will be one of the first things I'll put on the Laptop if I get one. I can't imagine having problems with any recent models since it always did so well on the older models.

CPU matters more in FSX..

The only thing you need for a Laptop is an actual discrete GPU.. Intel GMA's don't count.

Thanks everyone, the only reason I picked this laptop was because I need something portable because I'm always travelling and need it for collage and so can't afford laptop and desktop so just have to see how FSX runs
