VFR Groupflight; Landing on the Petersgrat glacier

Are you looking for a challenge? Do you want to prove you skills? Do you really know your plane?

vACC Switzerland warmly invites you to participate in the first glacier meeting on the Petersgrat.

The Petersgrat is a very popular destination for heliskiing, taking a walk in the snow and to watch pilots perform spectacular landings on the glacier.

But landing on the glacier is a very difficult, challenging task. The snow’s indistinct contours, gusty winds, thin air and frequent, unpredictable changes of the weather make the whole thing very interesting.

This is your chance to prove that you are real Bush-Pilots. Therefore...

Meeting point at Thun (LSZW) at 1900z on December 20th

Route:

After departure from Thun (LSZW) we’ll be heading to the lake of Thun, then to Interlaken, Grindelwald and up the famous Eigernordwand. After overflying the Aletsch glacier, we continue to the Petersgrad (the Petersgrad ridge) for a landing and a group picture.

Then, we fly back towards the Aletsch glacier, the Rhône Valley, the Nufen p[Mod - Happy Thoughts] and finally down the valley all the way to sunny Locarno (LSZL).

Important:

We recommend setting the weather to sky clear and wind calm and to turn the time to daylight.
