HI

I have TCAS installed by Lee Hetherington, this seems to be quite complicated to undestand, but I guess I will get it.

I would like to know if anyone else has this TCAS,or what TCAS you do have, and if you like it.

Thanks

Vergil

Which part about Lee's TCAS don't you understand. The readme file included with the gauge should explain most of it. I will be happy to go through it with you. Which product do you have the gauge installed in?

Thanks for your reply, I have the tcas installed in my 767-200 plane.

Everything seems to be working ok,but I still do not quite understand how to read symbols or exactly where other planes are.

Like 8- or 8+ means , When I am flying the vsi on this guage works with my plane.

I have guage set at 12 miles or 18 miles,so everything within this circle would be 12 miles or 18 miles ,is this right.

The blue symbol is my plane.

If you could make it a little plainer for me to understand, would appreciate it.

thanks

Vergil

I use the Mark1 Eyeball system. Works great.

The plus and minus signs precede numbers which indicate how many hundred feet above or below you the target is.

The blue aircraft symbol is your plane,

White targets are proximate traffic,

Yellow targets are TAs Traffic Advisory (threats)

Red targets are RAs Resolution Advisory (require action to avoid).

Download this file- http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=&Name=&FileName=ilh_tcas_v4.zip

There is a zip inside with contents you can extract to a folder and view the README.htm file

It explains most everything and even has pictures. You most likely already have that on your PC if you installed Lee's gauge youself.

Please see my online TCAS docomeentation (http://www.csail.mit.edu/~ilh/fs/ILH_TCAS_doc). This is the same docomeentation contained within the ZIP file that Mike mentioned. I hope this helps explain the TCAS symbology.

thanks for you reply and help,I now have Lee,s instructions on how to use tcas, but I have anorther problem.

I have the AIBRIDGE program to use with tcas to red AI traffic, but since I have had this program i have the following problem.

When I land plane, half of the plane disappers into runway,I have do not crash checked in fs2002

It must be in the AIbridge program, Have you had any complaints about this from anyone.

Thanks

I use FSNAV, it dosen't give you alerts or anything, but it allows you to see where the nearest traffic is.

I use Eric Marciano's Radar Guage. It has no voice announcements, but you can see other aircraft up to a 40 mile range. Its easy to install as well into other A/C. I love it.
