Hello,

I am trying to create a DSR like TAG. I don't know much about Euroscope. Is there a way I can get part of a tag to flash and switch what is being displayed like the DSR mode in VRC? Or even better, does anyone have a TAG set that includes, ARTS, STARS, DSR?

On another note: Is there a way to get the computer gen ID like in VRC's DSR moe?

You can try the TAG editor. Although you will not be able to replicate a DSR tag, it's going to be a lot of work. At least you can make it look like VRCs'.

Is there anyone out there currently working on a DSR plugin?

I would be happy to make a quick plugin to add some custom tag items for you but only if there's no-one else out there doing it.

That would be great! If you did that, would you be willing to send me the base of the.program so I can add STARS and ARTS? Thanks.

Ok guys you can download the plugin here: http://vatpac.org/jake/DSRTags.zip

The plugin adds 4 new tag items to simulate DSR (or at least the VRC/ASRC implementation..). I've included a sample settings text file for TAG Definitions and General Settings. These settings are a good place to start and shows where each new tag item belongs but are by no means complete. Note that I have not played with symbology settings (colours and shapes) so someone else will need to do this.

The tag items will function appropriately both in easy VATSIM mode and Mode C simulation. One thing you may notice is that the cycle rate of the third line tag information is limited to 1 cycle per second which is just slightly slower than ASRC / VRC. This is a limitation of the plugin environment.

Enjoy

The above ZIP has been re-uploaded, there was a bug in the vertical indicator and mode C readout. It should now function true to ASRC/VRC.

Jake, which Tag Items does it include? Unfortunately, no ES on this machine to try it out.

I read something about "mode C readout", so I would like to use this in the ground modes where I still miss this information.

Mode C Altitude readout (only available when on radar, squawking mode C)

Vertical speed indicator (^^)

Computer ID

Combined info field

You can pick and choose which items you want to (or don't want to) use in the Tag editor.

Jake, I tried them and I guess for those waiting for such a "cycling" Type/Cleared Level/Final Level field as in VRC, the Combined Info Field is just what they ever wanted in EuroScope Really nice work!

I am still looking for a really simple indicator showing mode C yes/no. Just an *, filled block, C, / or something else to use in the ground modes where this information is not available.

PS: plugin needs .dll's present in the EuroScope main directory, so if it doesn't work, copy the DSRTags.dll there or the .dll's to the plugin's directory

Guys I have a question,

I made a new family for my tag editor but I copied the contents of the original Matias built in. I changed the color for my altitude, but when I click ok to save the new family it says "No primary item for Belux/Primary Only".

I have put the callsign as a primary.

Thanks,

Tom

Jake,

I'm just wondering.. will this work properly if I'm using Mode-S correlation?

Cheers!

I would like to know this as well + can someone explain to me again what the plugin exactly does?

It's designed to simulate the DSR tag. Used by USA en-route positions.

Jake, if you're reading this, I noticed that it still tends to crash from time to time. If my guess is right, and upon noticing, it usually crashes when I have automatically start flight plan track enabled..so whenever a new fp track appears, it just crashes. Might worth a check?

Sorry Romano, forgot all about this... been a bit busy learning ATC in real life.

Not quite sure what would be causing the crash. I'll try to take a look at it soon (just don't hold me to it ).
