VATEUD is proud to announce the expansion of their Open Skies initiative to include all VATEUR Controllers.

This means that all controllers from the UK and Russia are now free to control, subject to GRP, in any of the Open Skies Areas.

These are:

Albania,

Estonia,

Finland,

FYROM,

Georgia,

Iceland,

Malta,

Moldova,

Slovenia.

This statement should be still valid. The other countries have unofficial vACC's wich should be notified before controlling in order to inform about local specialties.

I would like to point out that Iceland is now in transition period. We are still under Openskies but it is highly recommended that you have a look at our General Procedures before logging on, as our radar-[Mod - Happy Thoughts]isted oceanic airspace is rather unique. Training sessions are also offered to new controllers and coordinated on our forums.

Of course, we are always looking for new members to join our team

As I have seen so far, Armenia is the only country which is still part of the VATEUD Open Sky programme. All other countries from the initial phase back in year 2011 have become and got their official and unofficial vACC status with their own independant staff teams nowadays.

It should be corrected. Armenia is the part of VATRUS.

Georgia is still a part of Open Skies.

I can also confirm that Iceland is still part of Openskies as well. The current consensus between VATEUD and VATSIM Scandinavia is that the status should stay until traffic/ATC levels rise to a reasonable level. While traffic levels have risen noticeably over the last year, ATC remains quite sp[Mod - Happy Thoughts].

Nic, Evgeny,

i removed Armenia as part of VATEUD. The link Tim posted above is still valid, but from database side Armenia is out of VATEUD. I will edit the text on the page (...part of VATEUD openskies...) at the evening.

Guys, thanks for such a quick response.

Nevertheless as there is almost no traffic there, we can discuss and invite your controllers to provide ATC in Caucasus countries "on mutually beneficial basis" .

Really? Then it's my fault because I saw Phillip signed-in and observing as ACCSLO1 yesterday. So, I've thought that he continues to realise the Slovenian vACC.

No need say thank-you. I was only informing myself

@Evgeny: Good idea!!

@Tim: hmm. My last information was, that Philipp resigned as Director and still closed VACC-Slovenia. Maybe there are changes on this topic i wasn´t informed; on the VATEUD board i found nothing.

Will discuss it with the division staff.

Tim is correct, VATEUD vACC Support dragged me out of retirement. We are not making a lot of noise yet, but still waters run deep.

Hello everyone,

As the vACC Support Group has been developed and working on the unofficial vacc's I would like to ask for your patience regarding this.We will come up with an official statement regarding both the open skies project and the unofficial vACC's that are part of it.

Any new controller that can help increasing activity within Skopje FIR is more then welcome. Also we are accepting members that can help us in the background improving our vACC by taking staff position (weather it would be acting or full member). Just for information we are currently running applications for Event Manager. More information... http://macvacc.org/forum/index.php?topic=132.0

Hello, I hope I am posting in correct topic.

As I noted that Georgian airspace (UGGG) in VATSIM network is under control of RU-WRC (Russia western control), but from 2014 Georgian airspace in under Eurocotrol space. (please see https://www.eurocontrol.int/articles/member-flags-and-adhesion-dates and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurocontrol ). Can you please tell me what should be done to change Georgian airspace (UGGG) from Russia western control to Eurocontrol south.

Also I failed to find Georgia in country lists at http://www.vateud.net/countries.

Thank you.

In VATSIM network Georgia is NOT under Russia Western Control officially but still can be controlled by any European controller.

Another important thing is that several countries of VATRUS division are actually in Eurocontrol in real life but are in Russian-speaking Division in VATSIM. So real life does not always affect the life of VATSIM.

In addition, as you can see on the screenshot Georgia is not administered by VATRUS Division.

Source: http://vatrus.info/en/firs

Last but not least, Georgia vACC does not exist on VATSIM officially. Neither has it its own staff nor has it a rebuild team.

A quote from old VATEUD (European) Division website:

"Georgia

A vACC does not yet officially exist in Georgia. As part of a new initiative to bring online presence to current dormant or non-existant areas of VATEUD, please note that until further notice, these may be manned at will by anyone regardless of which vACC they belong to within the European Division. In other words, members can control as per their GRP2 rating requirement at any time they so wish without the need to sign up as Visiting Controllers. This policy will be reviewed soon."
