Hello Gentlemen! On SUNDAY NOVEMBER 6, 2011. I will be doing a A380 cross the globe flight. If anybody would like to join me, Here is the information :

 

WHEN: SUNDAY NOVEMBER 6, 2011 - MONDAY NOVEMBER 7, 2011

 

WHERE: John F. Kennedy Airport ---> Paris Airport (Charles De Gaulle)

Paris (Charles De Gaulle) ---> London/Heathrow

London/Heathrow ----> Singapore

Singapore ----> Sydney

Sydney ----> Los Angles

Los Angles ---> Dulles

 

Every time I stop, I will probably be taking anywhere from 10-30 minute breaks. Thank You all! If anybody needs to contact me, my email is [email protected]. Have a great day!!

No way you will be able to get around the world in 24hrs unless you have the concorde...

Thats 44.5hrs of flying with no breaks. Total distance 24403NM.....Thats definitely not possible in one day.

24403nm = 45194km. So using the good old speed equals distance over time equation, to do that in 24 hours your A380 would need to average 1883km/h.

 

Can't wait to see that.

or, a speed more relatable to us virtual aviators of heavy jets... that's an average of 1017 knots groundspeed.

Considering normal mach 0.85 cruise is about 490 - 500 knots...

and that doesn't include the 'loopback' from LFPG to EGLL as far as I can tell.

 

 

I remember doing a "quick as possible" round the world a few years back.

I believe YSSY - KSFO - OMDB - YSSY was found to be one of the quicker routes. Still took about 40 hours or so.

 

If I were to do it now, I'd probably do YSSY - KDFW - OMDB - YSSY

Changed. I am doing it the Friday/Saturday days right after THANKSGIVING. I am loading up at JFK at around 7:00 AM on Friday.
