Hello guys , I have been on the Vatsim network for about 1 year now and am ready to upgrade my headphones but don't know which ones and what specification I need?

I do believe USB headsets are the best so maybe I would go for a USB headset an also headsets with a good mic should work be better for the controller to understand ? I am not looking for much as you can see I only want to spend as much as £25 at maximum

Thanks ,

Ell

really no specific requirements for that. even the cheap $5 walmart headsets will work just fine. they probably wont last long, but theyll work

USB is nice, but those definitely are not cheap unless you find them used or on ebay.

I use the Logitech G930 and the sound+mic quality is great:

It is over your budget, but you might save in the long run by purchasing a higher quality device.

Well they do look amazing!

But I think I will be going for these headphones , as they look really good like the Logitech ones but even know its a lot cheaper , the specs are brilliant and on Youtube , there's a video on them and they seem to be very good and the microphone sounds nice and clear!

Whichever you choose make sure they are set up properly. While any USB headset is basically plug&play there are configuration items that you should check.

Sometimes there is additional software installed like special control panels etc. You won't need any of that normally since we're dealing with audio of a lower quality (not CD standards).

Make sure you test the headset with someone that can actually help you in letting you know about the quality. If a controller says "readability 5", that's not enough. You want them to clearly indicate if the quality is good, volume is correct, if you're speaking too close to the microphone, etc.

Windows has a gain option normally called AGC (Automatic Gain Control) or Mic Boost. Depending on the microphone you will want this on or off. Most mics do not amplify the volume. But if sound input is too loud and then Windows even sets that louder, it becomes distorted.

Finally, if you get more than one option to select the mic, I would recommend using the one prefixed by the word "Wave" instead of "Direct Sound."

For a mic it should be "Wave - ????? USB Microphone", for the headset it should be "Wave - ????? USB Headset".

Hello

I'm using Corsair wired (not USB) VOID PRO STEREO GAMING HEADSET bit don't seem to be able to hear ATC or able to speak. Is there something I need to do in order to set the headset up?
