I'm trying to build more-less sector file like we have in our Real World FIR. I have coordinates for the radars that are used, but my question is how can I identify or let's say know what are the values of

If there are no obstacles a rough rule of thumb is that radar base goes up by 1000 feet every 10 miles for the first 60NMs and then 1500ft per 10NM after that.

 

If you have obstacles this can change, but it works as a rough guide.

 

There is a formula for calculating the overhead but it's somewhat more complicated and I don't know it by heart.

 

 

The exact figures might be difficult to find, I don't even know if they're always calculated (as long as radar coverage is there where you need it then why do you need to care exactly where the coverage ends).
