Unhandled Exception Error after FSX crash

I have the same problem:

FSX with Acceleration

No SimConnect client listed as installed in Programs (makes sense)

vPilot runs on same PC as FSX

tried the DirectX web installer linked previously--said I had a newer one installed so nothing happened.

Update: I'm running FSUIPC unregistered

---

This happened right after the sim crashed. vPilot runs until I click "continue" or "quit" in a dialog box with this message:

"Unhandled exception hqas occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately."

"Exception from HRESULT: 0xC000014B"

--Button for details shows this info below--

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
   <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

What other SimConnect apps are you running? (ACARS, Weather, moving map, etc.)

Actually, the only other app is FSrealWX Lite to inject weather via FSUIPC...I'm running some tests this morning to see if I can reproduce this.

Ross, as a datapoint, during Alpha and Beta I also was running single PC with FSrealWX Lite, but with no issues (sorry Steve).

Steve, could you enable SimConnect debug logging in FSX? Let me know if you need help on setting that up. (It involves creating a SimConnect.ini file.)

I can do debugging...never done the INI. Did a quick Google search:

[SimConnect]
level=verbose
console=1
;RedirectStdOutToConsole=1
;OutputDebugString=1
;file=c:\simconnect%03u.log
;file_next_index=0
;file_max_index=9

Created a new empty text file. Put that text above in it. Named it SimConnect.ini and put it in the My Docomeents \ Flight Simulator X Files folder.

Launched vPilot while running FSX already on a flight with the PMDG 777 and no other add-on apps other that the before mentioned weather. So far no issues.

Did you restart FSX after creating the INI file?

I did and have yet to see this error again. I'm thinking that we might cross this off for now.

Also as a side note- When the client can't find a model to match, it puts a note in the text window. It's particularly frustrating when you're typing in the "chat" line and the window switches "focus" and your typing is screwed up.

Hard to explain...

You explained it well. I've experienced it myself. I think the logic (Ross can confirm) is that anything that comes in over the frequency window should be a higher priority than any PM you've got going. But, yeah, it's a bit of a pain. Knowing the logic makes it a bit more tolerable

Right, error messages take precedence. Obviously, fixing the configuration so that the errors go away should be the priority.

Steve, has this error happened again for you?

I found that one thing that can cause FSX to crash is if a faulty/corrupt model is loaded. This happened to a few users with the IVAO model set because the C150 model is corrupt and causes FSX to crash if any program (including vPilot) attempts to load it. I have removed the C150 from the IVAO rule set as a result of this.

So, if you are still getting this error, let me know what model sets you have loaded.

Ok...I'm trying to understand this...I ain't no computer pro so please bear with me.

I take this above and put into a folder on a text.

My question is: is there already one there, and if so, do I just delete it or make it .OLD?

Thanks
