Hello everybody

I have an issue when using vATIS. I follow all the steps according to the manual, like setting up the profile, the airport, the ATIS text, etc. Then I connect to VATSIM using my credentials, I set up the voice server (I use rw.liveatc.net, which I use when I control without any problem) and I set the correct frequency. When I connect the ATIS, the program says I am connected to VATSIM and the ATIS is connected. However, the ATIS doesn't appear for the pilots, and when I check ServInfo, the ATIS appears but with frequency 199.998 instead of 132.100 which is the frequency I set up on vATIS.

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance

Did you click the "Connect" button on the far left at the bottom? It should change to a "Disconnect" button if the ATIS voice transmission is successfully transmitting:

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, my bottom part of vATIS looks exactly like the screenshot you posted. When I had this problem I was connected to VATSIM and also the ATIS was connected.

And the primary frequency of the ATIS client shown in your controller client was also listed as "199.998" ?

@Justin: In case you need more info to look into this one (I'm wondering if some weird Unicode or extended ASCII character is going to be the culprit)...

.showatis response:

[02:59:31] SCEL_ATIS: Voice URL: rw.liveatc.net/scel_atis

[02:59:32] SCEL_ATIS: YOU HAVE INFO A.

Raw metar (from VATSIM's servers):

SCEL 220200Z 17005KT 6000 SKC 10/06 Q1016 NOSIG

Some issues I noted with the voice transmission (which was indeed occurring as expected) which may all be related to the "ICAO support is TODO":

  • NOSIG was pronounced as a word, not a contraction.
  • The "6000" after the wind was pronounced as individual numbers.
  • ILS Y was pronounced like "I-L-S why" (rather than the phonetic for Y, "yankee")

Relevant line from datafeed:

SCEL_ATIS:919676:Luis Donoso:ATC:199.998:-3339300156.00000:-7078579712.00000:0:::0::::USA-E:100:8::4:0::::::::::::::::$ rw.liveatc.net/scel_atis^§CEL ATIS INFO A 0200Z. 17005KT SKC 10/06 Q1016 (ONE ZERO ONE^§SIX). SCEL_TWR's line from datafeed (for position comparison):

SCEL_TWR:1044079:Leonardo Aguirre:ATC:118.100:-33.39460:-70.79049:0:::0::::OCEANIA:100:4::4:25::::::::::::::::$ rw.liveatc.net/SCEL_TWR^§SCEL_TWR^§Information ALPHA Winds variable 120-180 at 4 Vis 4000 HZ Sky OVC010 Alt 1017:20140822030930:20140822022244::::

So not only is the primary frequency indeed incorrect, but the position coordinates are... quite off.

The ATIS didn't appear on the controller list in VRC, so I can't tell you what frequency was displayed there.
