I have read the manual what provide for the software at least ten times, thinking I miss something important as I have the Traffic Proxy on the FSX machine, while the CLIENT keeps repeating "Attempting simulator connection..."

"Simulator connection failed."

Despite having both the same software and update on both computers. ( 1.1.5851.23849) I can connect perfectly on the FSX, but not the CLIENT. I have SimConnect on the CLIENT and updated to the requirement it provides, and trying to share files as well. I'm interested an anything us other than using vPilot for the first time since using FSInn for four years.

So far nothing to seems to work, Request [Mod - Happy Thoughts]istance when able.

Thanks in advance, Happy Flying.

On the server make sure that you run the proxy executable, if my memory doesn't fail me I think it's called trafficproxy or something like that.

Sounds like you don't have your SimConnect network configuration files set up right. Can you paste them here? (The SimConnect.xml on the server, and SimConnect.cfg on the client.)

Looks like you've posted the xml file, not the cfg file. (The ini file is not needed for connecting a remote machine.)

In your XML file, you need to change "myserveraddress" to the actual IP address of the FSX machine.

Go ahead and paste the cfg file from the remote machine.

[simConnect]

Protocol=IPv4

Address=myserveraddress

Port=500

MaxReceiveSize=4096

DisableNagle=0

this is the .cfg file from the laptop. I have tried using a "Shared" method and couldn't understand its complexity.

Change "myserveraddress" to the IP address of the FSX computer in both files, and you should be good to go.

I did exactly as you requested, it doesn't work. I change the IP address as the Traffic Proxy was failing as bad as the the one on my Laptop. Is there a guide or something that deals with Simconnect installation?

I wrote a tutorial on setting up SimConnect on a remote computer on the BVA forums. Perhaps it will help:

Thanks for posting that link, Evan.

Joseph, note that if you do follow the tutorial Evan linked to, you can skip the part about sharing folders on the sim machine. That is not necessary for vPilot to connect via SimConnect.
