My advice is to buy a USB headset which is a must have in my opinion for X-Plane, XSB & VATSIM. Then in the Audio settings of XSB you put the input & output to your USB headset. All the X-Plane sounds come out the speakers & all the VATSIM comms come out the headset. ie seperate sound channels I usually only cover one ear with the headset. If you don't have a USB headset the best you can do in X-Plane settings/sound is put all the sliders to 20% but have com radio at 100%.
