I'm not really familiar with specs and stuff like that. I barely know what CPU is hehe.

But I have $1000 and I want to build a computer.

I will run FSX (with aerosoft a320,GSX, weather addons and scenery addons), PFPX, Vroute, VPilot and Acars.

So what parts do I need to buy? Can I use windows 10?

Thanks

yes you can use windows 10

before you start building though, i would recommend something and i know users tend to look at it the same way as a vampire looks at garlic, but read a few PC building articles. it will help you in the end so you understand what your parts are, what you should and shouldnt be doing etc...

building a PC today is about the same as building with lego's , but that doesnt mean you cant royally screw something up in the process.

on top of reading the articles, i recommend watching some youtube videos on the subject. theyll show you what to do etc.. and you may even get a parts list that you like together (making sure they are all compatible)

one popular video series i recommend is by Carey Holzman. very well made videos and he tends to go into detail on what hes doing and why, and also reviews the parts in the process.

Okay thanks for the advice! But do you think I can get a PC for under $1000 that can reach all my requirements I wrote above? Or will it start lagging?

sure can, all depends on where you buy your parts, you dont for example have to buy them all from the same place if you can find the same part somewhere else cheaper. most especially also look for the sales!

for instance heres my specs which i built this past December, my total cost was around $1200 (US) ballpark, thats including the GTX650 video card which i already had and chose to keep, plus the DVD/RW drive which i bought after the build cause i still have cd's lol

bought everything at Amazon

Nice but what about CPU? i7 or i5? And also do you think its possible to get a GTX 970 while pushing the other expenses to under $1200?

I have started reading about Computer parts and building stuff.

http://pcpartpicker.com/

That's a fantastic website for what you want. It finds stores in your local area (provided you choose your country first) and gets the lowest prices from them. It helps with compatibility ie. you cant choose a part that's not compatible with another part. Free registration, awesome website. I7 is your best bet, and always go Intel, never AMD. get at least a 720 NVidia graphics card. Heres a more expensive one im currently building. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/s3hnQV

as far as monitors, i personally prefer to see the display in the store so i can see for myself what it looks like. i made the error with my current monitor, there wasnt a display available, but i went with the youtube reviews. its a gaming monitor with 1MS feedback, BUT, it has one drawback, doesnt handle dark textures well, which is not good when watching movies with dark colors or flying at night as you get globs of color showing sometimes instead of a smooth picture.

the one you linked has a 5MS feedback which isnt bad, but try and find a display locally of the same model so you can see it in action. then order it from amazon hahaha
