1. Try switching frequencies for a few (e.g. at least 10) seconds then switching back

2. Try shutting down the vPilot application and then starting it up and reconnecting again

I believe I was the controller in question.

I heard you state your callsign partially before you cut out. Every transmission after that was just static

Yes, that was me

You say when you calibrated your microphone in vPilot, your squelch was 0.42. Did you hear yourself speaking afterwards?

probably port block, port forward UDP 3290 on your router

What do you mean by port block?

(I might have a different name for it because i'm in the UK.)

its basically like a revolving door. information goes in, information goes out. sometimes that door gets stuck closed, or even sometimes it gets stuck open in one direction.

by port forwarding, it forces that door to open and close like normal.

How do you port forward?

thats all going to depend on your router. youll have to check its manual to see how. normally involves logging into the routers admin functions, you may see a port forwarding section or it may be under a different section. manual should tell you exactly

UDP 3290 is what youll want to port forward.

if you are using a public wifi connection and dont have access to the router, you wont be able to do this (some people use open wifi so worth noting)

after doing so, you may want to shutdown the pilot client and start it again. normally dont have to though and should start working right away

The UDP port issue is only for inbound communications - port forwarding will have no effect on outgoing transmissions.

EDIT: Missed the second page... still, the above might save someone else some time if they stumble upon this thread with a similar issue.
