Hi,

I put 93 instead of 39 in my id when logging on to Vpilot. Now I cant log in at all. I have re-installed Vpilot but keep getting "Wrong id" & it shuts down. I had the correct name installed. How do I fix this?

Cheers

Are you somehow unable to fix it in the settings?

Hi Ross,

No, even after I reinstalled I get: "Network error. Invalid CID/P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word. Disconnected from network".

I have the correct id & p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word in place.

Cheers

Have you actually typed the CID and P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word in rather than copying and pasting it?

The reason why Josh asks is that many times when copying a field, and extra [space] character gets appended to what you are copying, especially when you double click.

I can add to Don's answer, that it is actually what happens when you copy the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word you have received by e-mail. So I suggest you request a new p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word, make sure you copy that one without any spaces, then it should work.

Hello,

No need for a new p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word. As Don said, any space before or after either the ID or the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word can do what you are saying.

My suggestion goes in a way that you request a p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word reminder (it will be sent to your registered email address, and is the ONLY way for you to retrieve it) and then try again. Bear in mind what have been said about the spaces.

You can get your p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word reminder here: https://cert.vatsim.net/vatsimnet/statcheck.html

Please read carefully the instructions there.

As a side note you need to authorize @vatsim..net domain to send you emails, at your firewall, if any.

Well when you re-install, check off "empty config file" as it should erase everything and give you a brand new configuration file for vPilot to use.

I think that should solve your issue

That's like using a flamethrower to kill a mosquito.

Very true.... But it is effective, and fun, too!

Heh ... yeah, I should have come up with an analogy that doesn't sound so fun.

Yeah, I was weighing the alternatives:

Type a few characters instead of using copy and grabbing an inadvertent space character

vs.

Using a flamethrower to kill a mosquito

There was a clear winner in my eyes...
