Clear your date books, because both VCA's TGIF and AvA's Friday Fly-in' Circus will be flying into the Albuquerque ARTCC!

TGIF: Phoenix, AZ's Sky Harbour Int'l (PHX) and Scottsdale, AZ (SDL)

FFC: Phoenix, AZ's Sky Harbour Int'l (PHX) and Tucson, AZ (TUS)

Tomorrow night (June 9th), full staffing, with approx. 20 qualified controllers, will be providing their services for all three airports!

ZAB would like to invite pilots from all countries and all types of aircraft including VFR to fly in this event! In addition to domestic flights, Phoenix Sky Harbor services daily flights from Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Toronto in Canada, as well as London and Frankfurt in Europe plus numerous flights from Hawaii and Mexico.

Chad,

Anybody who has flown there already knows, ZAB is not in need to "prove" anything

We appreciate that the majority of people on VATSIM know that what the "pilot" said in the WSJ article said about us (ZAB) was really bogus.

ZAB is a nice place if you like the desert . As for ATC, it's one of the best ARTCCs in the country.

Clear Skies,

I bet he's going to have some explaining to do if he decides to participate...

I'll be there as EJA2 in a Learjet 45.

ZAB is sincerely my favorite ARTCC to fly through. I have NEVER had nothing but top notch, professional- yet friendly service from there. I'll be COA4001 tonight

Looking forward to seeing some of you folks tonight.

Don't forget to swing by Tucson - it's only a half an hour or less from PHX, and I know our controllers would love to handle some outbounds as well as inbounds to PHX. Many real world routes to Tucson go through PHX to increase their p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]enger loads. Why not land in PHX, file for TUS, and make a quick turn around to drop off the remainder of your p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]engers.

hehe I just noticed that TGIF has Commercial size planes going into Scottsdale... That would NEVER happen in real life... This will be interesting! Right now they wont even let anything bigger than a G-4 (A G-5 on very rare occasions) land there do to weight restrictions and wing length hazzards.

I should qualify that. Yes, Scottsdale doesn't take large aircraft but who said TGIF has them going in there? Certainly not VCA.

Thank you,

Lance W.

Yeah I figured I'd given everyone fair warning here on the forums before I come.

Sure, they have weight restrictions in real life, and the SDL City Council won't allow any commercial airlines to open up there, but hey! This is FS! Bring on those ERJs and CRJs. If you're talented, you could probably even put down a 737 there.

I've flown a 767 out of SDL on VATSIM before

In any case, the SDL was mentioned by Jim as the destination for ExecJet, which is an official TGIF partner (I think?)

Yes, Execjet is based at SDL and they are a TGIF airline now.
