I have noticed that when a text pilot is filed as heavy and when you give them instructions that would normally require you to put heavy after their callsign does not work. Is there any way to fix this or is it just a problem with VRC that I shouldn't worry about?

I wouldn't call this a "problem" with VRC, since the word "heavy" is not part of the callsign. It's just part of the phraseology that you are supposed to use ... nobody really does this with text pilots on VATSIM. It's extra unnecessary typing.

I’m with Ross on this one, and I’m normally all for phraseology accuracy. I even made a “.me” alias that spits out my current ATC Position’s radio identifier (e.g. “Minneapolis Center”) so I can properly close the loop on initial contact
