The Academy Says Farewell to Some of its First Faculty

The paint on the virtual walls of the Academy is still wet. More and more desks are being added each day in order to accommodate the ever growing number of students with which they are filled. The faculty room so often a source of conversation, sometimes out of frustration, as the newborn Academy experiences hurdles that requires each and every teacher on staff to learn the true meaning of teamwork, diligence, perseverance and determination. Yet it seems like no matter what obstacle the inception of this institution puts forth, the teachers leap yards past each hindrance by resolving issues and brainstorming new ideas, thereby strengthening the very foundation from which they teach.

On Monday, June 19, 2006, after over two months of its existence, the VATUSA Training Academy is sad to announce the departure of several teachers who were among the inaugural staff, as their time requirement to serve on faculty has come to an end.

To the departing faculty members, your efforts were Herculean, your visions grand. It is because of the commitment and dedication that you undoubtedly harbor within that makes VATUSA, and the entire VATSIM network, such a wonderful place to learn and grow. It gives me great pleasure and honor to have worked with the following individuals while they were on faculty in the Academy:

Andrew Bellini

Paul Biderman

John Burke

Curley Bryant

Richard Green

Mark Hall

Kevin Kan

Ethan Klapper

Craig Merriman

Kyle Ramsey

Jason Sutton

Jeff Turner

Thank you so much for your time and for the effort put forth in making the Training Academy as successful and strong as it is today and will without question prove to be in the future. Please take solace in an invitation to come back on board whenever time or schedule permits. I wish all of you the best of luck and success. As always, I remain,

Sincerely Yours,

Anthony Santanastaso

Coordinator of Curriculum and Teaching

Deputy Director of Training
