Hey Team,

We have been working hard behind the scenes to make sure this event runs without a hitch, to ensure this we would prefer pilots to file the following if flying between the 3 major airports that are featured:

REPOST FROM VATUSA FORUMS, From Ryan Parry ZOA ATM

Pilots:

If you're planning on flying to SFO tonight, the forecast is currently looking like gusty winds and light rain which will force us into our southeast plan (landing 19L/R). That will significantly reduce our arrival rate, please plan fuel accordingly (especially hold fuel), and expect some delays at your departure airport. If you're filing standard routes (BDEGA#/DYAMD#/SERFR#), expect ATC re-routes onto southeast plan arrivals (STLER#/ALWYS#/WWAVS#).

KSFO 111204Z 1112/1218 14006KT P6SM FEW007 SCT010 BKN200

TEMPO 1112/1116 FEW006 BKN010 OVC200

FM111800 12010G16KT P6SM SCT011 BKN040 OVC050

FM112100 13015G24KT P6SM VCSH SCT010 BKN030 OVC040

FM120100 13011G18KT 6SM -SHRA BR SCT008 BKN025 OVC035

FM121100 06005KT 6SM -SHRA BR BKN020 BKN030 OVC040

If you're planning on flying to RNO tonight, the forecast looks pretty good and should be VMC, however, due to the nature of the small mountainous airspace things can quickly become congested. Please plan fuel accordingly (especially hold fuel), and expect some delays at your departure airport.

KRNO 111142Z 1112/1212 VRB04KT P6SM SCT200

FM111900 16006KT P6SM SCT110 BKN200

FM120200 VRB04KT P6SM SCT100 BKN200

If you're planning on flying to SLC tonight, the forecast is indicating calm winds and low visibility (2-3SM w/ mist). Please plan fuel accordingly (especially hold fuel), and expect some delays at your departure airport.

2019/01/11 12:36

KSLC 111134Z 1112/1218 34003KT 2SM BR OVC008

FM111900 32004KT 2SM BR BKN015

FM120300 15003KT 3SM BR SCT015

A bit of dispatch advice: The weather looks to significantly impact at least SFO and SLC, and high arrival demand could cause holding at all three airports. I'd highly recommend 15-30 minutes hold fuel, some extra contingency, and probably a good alternate you're willing to take if things go sideways (Reno should be VMC, so as long as you have the fuel to hold if needed, no alternate should be needed). I hope everybody has fun tonight!
