Tonight is my first night with the new audio. I went through and updated vpilot but for some reason after around 10-15 minutes I get the message

Disconnected from voice server, reason lost connection.

I am still connected to vatsim and can see traffic but my audio stops working.

I'm sure you've thought of this Gary et al, but in the recesses of my WorldFlight beverage altered memory I recall an issue in the past where connections were lost because the persons internet router would timeout on the UDP session...

I wonder if some of the disconnects may result from this issue? If so people may need to change the default timeout interval.

Hi John,

This shouldn't (in theory) be an issue any more as AFV sends a UDP keepalive every 3 seconds which was more than frequently enough for all the router firmwares we researched. If the server doesn't receive a heartbeat in 15 seconds (i.e. 5 dropped heartbeats) then the connection is dropped.

That post is closed to replies.

I am having the same issue. Disconnected from voice constantly. If I turn on a VPN - no issue
