I want to see she airport while I am controlling. How do I do that?

Im not sure about squawkbox but I know that in vPilot and in xPilot, if you open your sim in the ATC Tower and type .towerview while connected through your vPilot or xPilot, then you should be able to see the planes.

This is not quite right ... you don't open the sim in the ATC Tower. You need to be running a controller client that can act as a proxy server. Euroscope and vSTARS have this capability. You first start the proxy server in the ATC client, then you connect vPilot or xPilot to that proxy server with the .towerview command.
