Hello, sorry might sound stupid and also sorry if this is in a wrong forum, but wanted to know (not that I will ever do that) if you drink beer, and you are on a point that you are a little bit drunk (not really drunk but on the border or tipsy, more between that), and the ATC notices you slur your words a bit, will you be automatically be booted or will they tell you like: "Hey listen, i think you have enough to drink now"

This is a really funny topic, but to answer it, no there's no "restriction" on drinking, as long as you can follow ATC instructions and what is expected of you on the network.

I've had some... Interesting encounters with intoxicated pilots and controllers over the years. 😛 Makes for a good laugh!

If you are of legal age to drink that is. 😄

I can see the internet lawyers saying: "The guys on VATSIM told their minor members it's ok to drink beer!"

Not sure about other countries but if you are free to drink in your own home with parents permission in Australia.

In Germany the legal drinking age for low-alcoholic drinks, such as beer, is 16 years. Higher percentage stuff is limited to 18 years of age, and I do not mean just the age of the bottle 😄

Hi Andreas! Long time no talk. I trust you are well.

There are several excellent beers from Belgium which match wine for strength. Piraat, for example, is 10.5%, I believe, and Duvel is a close second. And the bubbles increase the rate of absorption of the alcohol so the stuff has a more immediate effect than wine.

Or so I've been told… :)

I think that's exactly what you said when I signed your "My first little logbook" in crayon, at the hotel bar after the Tea Party years ago..

Might be mistaken... may have had a few..

Is it allowed NOT to drink while controlling or conducting a flight on Vatsim? 😅

Serious answer, as long as you are able to fullfill your tasks and expectations set for you, without interfering with network operations or act inappropriately, sure. 🙂
