POSITION OPEN - VATSIM Social Media Specialist

Applications are now being accepted for the position of Specialist, VATSIM Social Media. The VATSIM Marketing & Communications Team is comprised of three important tiers, Social Media, Member Engagement, and Network Outreach. VATSIM is looking for individuals that are passionate about aviation and VATSIM who can help execute our Social Media strategy across multiple different social platforms.

REPORTS TO: General Manager - VATSIM Social Media

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Assisting with the ideation and implementation of new social media strategies on all VATSIM Social Media accounts, including but not limited to:

• Implement VATSIM’s Social Media strategies on multiple Social Media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
• Work with other Marketing & Communications team members to create content surrounding VATSIM Events and other activations.
• Answer general questions regarding VATSIM that are submitted by followers on both Twitter DMs and Facebook Messages.
• Assist with moderating the official VATSIM Facebook Group.
• Design graphics surrounding VATSIM’s Brand Guidelines for marketing posts.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A successful candidate will meet the following minimum standards for this role:

• Familiar with managing various social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook Pages, Facebook Groups, and Instagram.
• Must be in good standing on the VATSIM Network for no less than 12 months.
• Speak and write fluent English.
• Familiar with graphic design in Photoshop or other software is a plus.
• The ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in a cross-team, dynamic environment.
• The ability to think outside the box with a creative mind.
